The brain is split into two hemispheres, the left and the right, both of them having specific perks and functions. The right side of the brain focuses on creativity and intuition. This is the side of the brain that displays emotion.

The left side of the brain is where all of the thought processing and logic sequencing takes place.

Artificial Intelligence is the process of replicating the left side of the brain into a program such as a video game, a military device, an iPhone application, or even a prosthetic limb.

I am going to call someone up and perform something that computer scientists have been trying to model for years.
..

.

Lets try it again. See this time you decided to not do it, as a baby would not touch a hot pan twice. This is the process that programmers have been trying to model for years, however it isn't as easy as you think. An AI only has the though-processing skills of a four year old baby, excluding the emotions and feelings.

Artificial Intelligence is basically the science and engineering of making intelligence machines, especially revolving around computer programs and robots.

.

There is one main goal for making a "perfect" AI: to make a program that is able to function like a human brain. This is very hard to do and there are many downfalls to this goal, which makes it very hard to perfect an AI.
...

Mechanical Perception is a huge problem in making an AI. The computer must know how to use external resources to help function by using facial and voice recognition, cameras, sensors, and microphones. This is very lengthily procedure and can easily fault because of minor mistakes.
..

.

Another great, yet difficult process to create is the system's automated learning. Like I did with the hand buzzer, a computer must learn how to work off of its mistakes. This is very hard, because the machines have no emotion and have the problem-solving skills of a four year old.

.

Human Reason and Logic is a process that programmers are yet to learn, where they mimic human reason and deduction via machines. This process can take months if not years to perfect and requires a lot of patience.
..

.

This is a Venn Diagram of the differences and similarities between a computer and the human brain. One of the main points of the diagram was that an AI's only goal is to be intelligent. The main differences that really stood out were that a computer is very great at multitasking, while the human brain is better at learning new material.

The WORCESTER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE took a survey on artificial intelligence that went on for more than one hundred pages, so I am going a couple questions throughout the slideshow. The first one asked how for are computer scientists away from creating intelligent machines capable of replacing a human. I am going to call on three of you and ask you to guess how many years, decades, months, millenniums, or centuries you think it will take.

There are many mainstream uses of artificial intelligence, however, I am only going to name three of the most well known uses. Prosthetic joints need to be able to function properly with some kind of program, which is called Artificial Intelligence.
..

.

Robots use advanced algorithms and programs to function that is all possible because of artificial intelligence.

.

iPhone apps such and Siri and the Akinator showcase many great features of artificial intelligence.
...

For my scientific experiment, I used the app the Akinator. This app lets you input a famous person and the app's AI will try to guess it. I let my sister and dad pick a vague person and a very well known person and see what would take longer and to see if it used the three main properties of an AI (Perception, human reason and logic, and automated learning).
...

My sister picked Charlie from Good Luck Charlie as the well-known person. It took the machine thirty three seconds to guess the correct name. My dad picked the Sacramento Republic Soccer Coach, and it ended up guess him after four minutes and fifteen seconds after three tries.
.

..

The system used automated learning a lot when it was trying to find the obscure person. I saw that the question box kept bobbing up and down, which was it correcting itself. It also used Mechanical Perception. The app was kind of like a 24 questions game, so for every answer I gave it, I was giving the program more information about the outside world, which helped it percept the answer.

...
Human Reason and Logic was used slightly, but not as much, however it used it to grab resources from its database and portray them into questions.
.

..

The whole point of this experiment was to see if the system solved the problem using the three main factors in artificial intelligence and it actually succeeded.
..

As you may see, many everyday objects use artificial intelligence in order to function. One programmer even says that by 2029, computers with be smarter than any man. This too, will also be because of artificial intelligence
