Lizzy continues to meet Darcy on her walks. The Colonel tells her Darcy prevented a friend from an ill-advised marriage, Lizzy only thinks of Jane and Bingley. She doesn't go to Rosings that evening.

Lizzy studies the letter and is unhappy. She prepares to leave for London with Maria Lucas.

Lizzy and Maria Lucas leave, and arrive at the Gardiner's.

Lizzy, Maria and Jane leave for Hertfordshire, where they are met by Lydia and Kitty.
Chapter 40
Lizzy tells Jane of Darcy's love and his letter.
They decide to not dishonour Wickham.
Chapter 41
Lydia is invited to Brighton, Lizzy advises Mr Bennet not to let her go. Lizzy meets Wickham. Lydia leaves for Brighton.

No news of Lydia at Longbourn, Lizzy sees Lydia's letter. Mr Gardiner prepares to join Mr Bennet in London.

Mr Gardiner leaves for London, Collins sends a letter and Mr Bennet comes home.
Still no news of Lydia.
Chapter 49
Mr Gardiner writes that Lydia and Wickham are found, but not yet married. Mr Bennet realises that Wickham accepting Lydia must have involved some money. Mrs Bennet ecstatic that one of her daughters is finally to be married.
Chapter 50
Mr Bennet disapproves of Mr Gardiner's suggestions. Lizzy realises she loves Darcy! Lydia to visit Longbourn after her wedding.

Lizzy finds herself alone with Darcy, she explains her changed feelings to him and they discuss their relationship.

Lizzy confesses her feelings to Jane who is astonished.
Mr Bennet gives Lizzy consent, but Mrs Bennet has to review her opinion of Darcy.

Letters exchanged, Lizzy looks forward to living at Pemberley.
