Odysseus shoots Antinous in the throat; suitors are confused; suitors think it's an accident

Odysseus reveals himself; suitors become terrified; realize they no way out because Philoetius locked the front door and Eumaeus locked the doors to the women's' quarters

Eurymachus tries to calm Odysseus down; tells him Antinous was only bad apple among them; Odysseus doesn't listen to Eurymachus and announces he will kill them all

Eurymachus charges Odysseus; Odysseus shoots arrow at Eurymachus, causing Eurymachus to fall

Telemachus kills Amphinomus w/ his spear; Telemachus goes to storage room; grabs shields and swords for Philoetius and Eumaeus; forgets to lock door behind him

Melanthius finds storage room and grabs weapons for suitors; Melanthius goes back to storage room for more weapons

Eumaeus and Philoetius find Melanthius in storage room; Eumaeus and Philoetius tie Melanthius up and lock him in storage room

Brutal battle now rages in the palace hall; Athena disguises herself as Mentor; Mentor doesn't participate immediately but encourages Odysseus b/c Mentor (Athena) wants to test Odysseus' strength

Odysseus and his men throw spears back and forth with suitors; several suitors are killed; Odysseus and his men only receive small wounds

Athena joins the battle; battle ends quickly; Leodes begs for mercy; Odysseus still kills him; Odysseus spares Phemius and Medon

Odysseus unlocks doors; Odysseus has Eurycleia come out; Odysseus gets mad at the disloyal servant women

Odysseus orders Eurycleia to round up servant women; Odysseus orders them to clear corpses from the hall and wash the blood from the furniture

Odysseus orders women to be sent outside and killed; Odysseus orders Telemachus to kill women w/ sword

Telemachus decides to hang them instead b/c it is a more disgraceful death; Odysseus tortures then kills Melanthius; after bloodbath, Odysseus sprays house with fumes to get rid of god awful smell
