The creature tells his story and asks Victor to create another creature
•Victor denies his request because he is exasperated by his tale of the murder of William and in turn, Justine.

• The creature explains that he is malicious because he is miserable. He has been an outcast by society. The only thing he wants is a companion.

If Victor makes the creature
• If Victor makes him a companion, the creature will live in exile in South America in peace.• Victor doesn't believe the creature will be able to stay away from humanity
Victor agrees to make him a companion
• Victor says, "After a long pause of reflection, I concluded that the justice due both to him and my fellow-creatures demanded of me that I should comply with his request."• The creature frolics down the mountain with joy because he will be getting a companion and his happiness will be restored; however, Victor walks down the mountain with dread because he is not looking forward to creating a second creature.
