Running head: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PROJECT MANAGEMENT PROCESSES IN ORGANIZATIONS Customer inserts His/her name Customer inserts grade course Customer inserts Tutor’s name 6th January 2011 The project manager of RAPC needs to be an expert since it makes work easier in his department which avoids complication of the system in the organization. The project manager should be an expert in the field so that other members in the organization can gain credibility that he/she has been entrusted to perform.Since the processes are based on understanding that the project management involves the integration of processes such as initialization, planning, execution, controlling, monitoring and closing, therefore, the project managers should have a diverse experience and a mechanism that will enable the completion of the projects that are on line at a limited time so that the members can gain credibility with the project manager. In order for the non-project managers to gain credibility with the project manager, the project manager should have a clear understanding of the possibility of the project.

However the lack of the subject matter should not be a hindrance to his/her credibility but in order to have a successful project management that depends more on the ability to provide a functional and facilitate a communication network between the departments in the company. It is the responsibility of the project manger to thus control the company resources through allocating the needful resources to the project at the right time and with the exact cost.Nonetheless, the complex projects at the RAPC Company that are initiated by the project manager succeed because of the projects manager’s abilities to facilitate the functional interrelations and interactions of several expertise within the project subject matter which is never dispensable to the response of gaining certain credibility among the non-project managers (Project Management Institute, 2004). The IT project manager should also be an expert in technology because of the evolution of diversity and the complexity in the IT field.

In addition it is not very possible for the project managers to expertise and further encompasses all the implications brought about by the indications of technical issues. Therefore, it is the duty of the project managers to have a critical working knowledge of the subject matter since the aim is to coordinate and communicate all the activities that involved in the company towards the achievement of goals and objectives. In order to get an effective project management that depends on the project managers abilities to smoothen the progress of interaction within the organization, a clear working knowledge of the technical project aspects that is valuable but in deed expertise in the subject matter that is not in a way dispensable to gaining the credibility amongst all the non-project managers.Subject matter among the project managers plays a critical role in learning the initiative. Whereby, the subject matter provides relevant and accurate contents for the information technology. This helps the team members to deliver the effective learning experiences within the organization.

By having a good subject matter expertise that is helpful in establishing credibility with the customers and further project the staff and the vendors within the organization. This aspect holds and ensures trust and further holds the accountability of the people who are relating together (Kerzner, 2003). It is important for the project manager of RAPC to be an expert in the subject matter of the project because the general technology that involved for the project to be well managed the project manager should be well grounded in all aspects that entails the fundamentals matters of the organization that is involved.A project manager on the side should be an expert through several means for example, he/she should be adept to all means of communication, in the sectors that involves problem solving and in areas that concerns motivation.
