February 26, 2013, was the date when I started the on-the-job training at Informatics Computer Institute, Service Department. It is an Institute which is located at SM Megamall Level 5 Building A., Mandaluyong City. My regular schedule is 8:00am to 5:00pm as the closing shift in mall hours, but sometimes schedule change as it is needed a technician ojt in the morning or an opening shift. And my regular rest day is Sunday.
As a trainee, I was assigned at the Service Department as a Technician. The main tasked of Service Technician is to maintain all the computer working properly, troubleshoots if it has a problem, Reformatting computer, Installing Application needed. And the other clerical works liked, Cleaning the Areas, Bank Depositing, Binding of Manuals, ID lamination etc.My supervisor or our Centre Technician, Schedule a time and date in the designated topic he want us to teach. One a week he teaches us new thing that we didn’t know like Ghost Imaging using Norton Ghost, Installation of Different Operating System and Servers, Installing Application, Hardware Troubleshooting as well as network troubleshooting, basic networking, Virtual Drive as Power ISO, Dual Monitor, Fedora Live CD, Making Bootable usb using Win to Flash or a Power ISO.
I had a lot of learning from them. And lastly, I can finally say that I am readily and competent to face the challenge of the Business and IT industry.June 29,2013 four (4) months later I was able to complete more than 720 hours as trainee. Which is the required number of hours on my COE subject as 3rd year student of Rizal Technological University, taking up Diploma in Computer Engineering Technology.
