I am committed to influencing and impacting children in positive ways through my teaching skills. Children are the future: we need to understand, nurture and cater for them. This will enable them to develop appropriately, adapt easily to the society and find a niche to make impact in the world where they have found themselves.Education is the light out of darkness: it is the way by which knowledge topples over ignorance and wisdom becomes practicable.
In view of this, my purpose for applying for this undergraduate study is to equip myself with the discipline, skills and knowledge of childhood education.There is no doubt that this institution is competent in educational studies particularly childhood education. It has the facilities and staff strength for high-standard training in this field of human endeavor. Having perused through the faculty guidelines, I quickly realized that the coherent and co-operative team in this unit promotes qualitative teaching and learning. The environment is also favorable for sound education.
I am convinced that this department is the place where I am thoroughly equipped and furnished with necessary skills and knowledge in childhood education. This is why my choice of St. Johns University, Hunter College, and Long Island University (Brooklyn Campus) is apposite.Why do I want to be a teacher? I want to be a teacher because I have always been interested in human interactions.
Teachers have the responsibility to provide a good learning environment as well as have an impact on students’ interests and goals in education.I am interested in childhood education because I believe that it is important to build a strong educational foundation at a young age. It is important to influence children and be a good role model. Childhood teachers have the ability to provide a positive learning process.I have a basic education as a graduate with a BA in psychology and minor in sociology.
The school that I attended is the University of Massachusetts Boston.Here, I was properly trained by a team of competent instructors to understand human behavior and his interactions with the environment. I believe this will help me when I begin study for my graduate education, as it will help to better appreciate initiation, development and progression of childhood personality and behavior with respect to education.I am an excellent person.
I devote my time to thorough research and study. This has paved way for me in many ways. I was bagged with an award from the National Honor Society in 2001 for my excellent contribution to quality of human existence.My hobbies are reading, traveling, exercising and outdoor activities. I am not just applying to the school to gain and not contribute my quota.
I am ready to use my outdoor activities to initiate positive changes in the university by excellent representation at competitions and intercollegiate events.I will use my knowledge and skills to promote good image of the institution any where I find myself. I am fluent in English, Malay, and Cantonese and I can understand some mandarin and Spanish.My choice of this institution is based on my conviction that it has competent facilities and personnel to deliver excellent graduate training in childhood education. I am interested in this field because of I want to positively influence children at such a tender age; they are our future.
