PEACE Domestic Violence Agency HSM 270 - Program Summary Axia – University of Phoenix STUDENT’S NAME Date, 2009 OVERVIEW OF THE PROGRAM PEACE Domestic Violence Agency provides a variety of ways to improve the efficiency of domesticated issues, servicing victims of sexual assaults and domestic violence. Their central focus is derived from a strategic mission statement, consequential approach, which essentially regulates the business’ calculated goals. Central Focus: I. ) Decrease victim suffering II.

) Restore victim independence III. ) Through direct care, advocate recovery.Consequential Approach - I. ) Confront public beliefs and normality’s that perpetuate or condone violence in the community. II.

) Decrease the causalities of domestic violence and sexual attacks through educational methods (PEACE, 2009 a. ). Strategy and Mission Statement: The city has seen an increasing span within the last five years, especially the hearsay of violence among the youth and domestic issues, assaults, incidents of road rage, spousal and child abuse. This projects intention is to decrease such problems, promote healing services, and to empower the society of Portland.PEACE’s targeted population consists of children, youths and women of Portland whose lives have been affected and threatened by sexual assaults or domestic violence.

PEACE is completely committed to this endeavor and particular to this group, which faces traumatic emotions and consequently requires urgent care, recovery, and empowerment (PEACE, 2009 b. ). ASSESSMENT The objectives are short-range results, which are attainable to anyone who wants to see positive outcomes. When looking at the following objectives,PEACE has designed its mission to eliminate and prevent crimes against women and any tolerance of these mistreatment while protecting, and advocating hazardous situations though the empowerment of the public’s awareness. A. ) Providing a connection between people suffering from this traumatic distress and law agencies (crime cells, police etc.

) B. ) Educating the public on the negativity based off sexual assaults and violence by coordinate seminars and social rallies. C. ) Offering counseling to affected groups of trauma relief victims. NEEDS AND PROBLEM STATEMENTThree-quarters of the female population, which are estimated living in rural areas, are victims by their partner (Belluck, 1997).

Americans are now beginning to realize the facts that underlie child abuse and domestic violence, which is a critical dilemma in the public. From an investigation of court indictments, it is obvious to see the considerable number of increased case proceeding. When reading over a recent report, just in one day alone, more than 54,000 children, women, and men receive assistances in some form from the community they reside in which offers domestic violence services. Many are forced to find refuge in transitional housing as a refuge of emergency shelter.

Sadly enough, over one-quarter of those persons, which consist of 60%, are children. There have been more than 25% increase of crimes that are affiliated with felonies alone. These are serious offenses related to sexual assaults and domesticated crimes (Survey 2009 a). Child abuse and domestic violence organizations engage a crucial role when aiding injured parties with finding protection from mental and physical situations. For millions of people, they service as a refuge of trust and hope that otherwise have no other means to turn to in such perilous situations. There is a gradual increase in the number of emergency calls to hotlines, according to a recent survey, for shelter and protection, cases of child abuses, legal servicing, and trauma counseling (Survey, 2009 b).

Unfortunately, many cases are unrevealed because the victims are either homeless, too scared to report the fatality or simply do not know the resources available to them: as a result, the person responsible for crime is left unpunished. On another note, these victims are connected with poverty, unemployment and other residual problems. Leading to an outcry as to why woman and children find themselves in these situations and needing the help they do. These grievances can be a series of events that extend from fatal hostilities, penetrating lesions, and insignificant cuts: joined with psychological issues.

If projects and funding are not inaugurated properly, the minority of low-income and young aged group victims become a higher risk of dysfunctional lifestyles who settle within hostile environments.Essentially, they force themselves to dwell in mental and physical sufferings, leaving themselves in a perpetual cycle of disorder. PEACE Domestic Violence Agency is devoted when increasing the well-being and safety of children and mothers influenced to hostile environments within their dwellings. They supply instructive guidance, coping strategies, healthier conflict resolution skills, and fostering deep bonds between parent, and child relationship, while thwarting off perpetuating violent behaviors.

PROGRAM PLANNINGWhen programming a plan it is often initiated in the most general way and is compilation of managerial resources that is equipped to achieve a particular major goal based off an array of other goals. A program is a system and an organization grounded on several different phases. Phase I - Category of intercessions that are documented: 1)Case statistics filed in police cases within sexual assaults and domestic violence 2)The number cases filed under sexual assaults, domestic violence and among the besieged population Phase II - Forms of applicants that are used to assemble sequential order regarding participant projects.Phase III - Survey scale to supply assessment and feedback regarding projects for both participants and staff that will give comprehensive satisfaction Phase IV - A number of ethnographic observations of activities will be utilized within projects, which will collect qualitative project information. This evaluation process will supply a base for comprehensive effectiveness within the program.

Phase V - Activity logs, attendance sheets, and encounter forms will be quantified documents of projects rendered and its utilization of services within a precise demographic location.Additionally, forming a PEACE casualty examination team will also be incorporated, which will consist of a physician, an internal psychologist, and a state social worker. Documented and operation effectiveness will be forms to follow when predicting the measures of success within PEACE Domestics strategy plan. Discretion The agency for PEACE Domestic Violence will ensure that all private information is stored in a computer and that only certain personal, such as the project director and the evaluation team would have clearance to such files. To abide by legal parameters, all the data evaluation is kept with the utmost confidential integrity. Additional identification cards will contain numerical codes which will ensure the safety requires.

Budgeting Status Report PEACE will submit a Budgeting Status Report (supplied by The National Foundation’s funding program). Monthly expenditure will include a $6,000 for salaries for 3 temporary workers, 3 permanent employees (one director, and two officers), general office supplies, and a counselor trauma related issues. The grant will provide 40% supplied by the foundation and under “Investor Program” totaling $70,000 yearly. ALTERNATIVE FUNDING When looking at the urgent needs of financial backing and present dismal conditions, PEACE is anticipated to get their financial support from grants warranted by The National Foundation’s Funding Program. With this support, the agency will continue to make every effort when fulfilling its objectives when promoting the security of children, women, young men whose lively-hood not only depend on it, but also are influenced by domestic violence. The objective is to decrease the occurrences of domestic violence through the increase of awareness, service prerequisite, and education.

PEACE continues to submit an application among their “Investor Programs. ” A funding course that is design is supporting six businesses under every objective within the Supporting Families agenda, for up to 3 years, and optimistically $150,000 annually. PEACE will support from this grant its service and operational expenditures, essentially providing aid to the besieged people within its demographical parameters.Facility development and operational expenses will consist of funds that will be incurred through bills: such as operating expense, transportation expenses, legal help, and salary compensation, etc. IMPLEMENTATION Logistic Operation Model for PEACE Domestic Violence Agency Program planning, such as outputs (vendors), inputs (clients of community), activities (project plans), influencing facts and long-term objectives are typically (but not always) a broader range than Project Planning.

Regardless of what one understands as a project administrator, a project will undoubtedly challenge our aptitude. However, when using a little science, a little art, and a little dexterity of knowledge. This piece will help guide one within the few challenges project management faces, alongside suggestive resolutions. 1)Cases are likely to increase in the long scheme of things and PEACE will inevitably face many shortages of operation funds (health insurance, gas prices, utility bills, etc.

) 2)Due to the progression of program needs, community resources are expected to fall short (transportation, dental / medical services, affordable legal aid, inexpensive housing, etc. 3)Other related settlements, such as insufficient salaries for staff 4)An increase of unemployment and illiteracy within targeted population 5)Staff exhaustion from being over-worked 6)Inadequate ratio of staff in proportion client needs (Baker, 2008). PEACE Domestic Violence Agency would implement additional funding when and if it becomes available to fulfill important disparity within service prerequisites, such as: 1)Pay legal expenses of victims 2)Facility renovation 3)Employ additional staff 4)Child abuse-care and advocacy 5)Competitive salaries and other related employee benefits )Expansion of outreach services 7)Transportation and travelling expense reimbursement for staff members There seems to be unlimited reasons why implementing a project is so challenging, however; one solution seems to always come full circle and that is the lack of communication, which brings us to the next point. Ineffective communication - With thankfulness to the advancements in technology, usually there is no deficiency of information available to us at our fingertips. One of the quandaries is, we do not take advantage of it as we should with correct information and given to correct personal.Essentially, because corporations are not good cultivating constructive communication and partially because we are unaware of what is actually correct.

One of the ways to resolve this is to establish sound, constructive communication with, “how”, “what”, “whom”, “when”, and for every project. Create (or find) a model plan for, reports, minutes, agenda plans, and recycle them with each program development. The result of every program should be exclusive for its sole purpose. However, when using good communication it should develop into habitual patterns, leaving the company with positive results (Inett, 2003).EVALUATION Some of the primary purposes of the evaluation are: (a) Creating a well-composed report of evaluation statistics (b) Measure the efficiency of the guidance program (c) Evaluate the progression of the sexual abuses associated to domestic violence workshops that address the elements of such problematic issues (d) Arbitrate the influence of the project concerning quality and quantity of programs offered which are offered to the group of targeted population (e) Assess the accomplishment of the project’s behavioral methods The evaluation of this mission is to focus on outcomes and process procedures.

Essentially, to resolve what is the best form of practice when developing a replicable model, and what influences the service. Evaluation techniques comprise of case studies, surveys, focus groups, the involvement of investments, and stockholders. From the frequency of job, training updates, to holding outcome evaluation seminars, these assessments form results. Quarterly reports should show the outcome of any surveys that have been done and appropriate changes should be made accordingly and showing up in every annual report.

When monitoring the success of the program, it can be evaluated by the number of distress calls coming in per year, per month, per week, or per day. Keeping track of these percentages or the increases within the sexual abused or domestic violence victims, will provide reasonable sequence to the company’s growth. In summary, this research is a reflective plan with vision and research. When drawing the conclusions within each project, it should consist of competency, applicant liability, community needs for the project, affordability and project purpose.

This plan will act as strategic success plan with implementing the on-going efforts and its comparable programs of request. A systematic description of program analysis and its impacts will be given to the grant agency; it will then be evaluated for the success of PEACE Domestic Violence programs, which will abide by and live in harmony to its successful reputation and criteria’s.
