After each weekly lecture, copies of Powering slides will be posted on VITAL. Details of activities and copies of case studies and other seminar activities will also be posted on VITAL (which you can unload) or where this is not possible, given out in advance of the session, in order for you to prepare in advance. Other reading material etc. Which you will find useful may also be posted on VITAL from time to time.Attendance at all lectures and seminars is mandatory.
Advance preparation for lectures and seminars is essential if you are to get the most from the module. Please note that the module leader reserves the right to change lecture or seminar topics if needed. 7. Assessment Assessment for this module is via examination and coursework. The relative weighting of the assessment components is examination 70% and coursework 30% The examination will be of TWO hours duration. In this time you will need to answer two essay-type questions from a choice of five.
There are no compulsory questions and all questions have an equal marks allocation. More information about the examination, and how to prepare for it, will be given in the final seminar. The coursework assessment comprises an individual essay assignment of 1 500 words. A full briefing about content and format of the coursework - and the criteria by which your work will be assessed - will be provided in class.
The submission date for the coursework report will be Tees 9th DCE. Marks and feedback on the coursework element of the course will be provided after the Christmas vacation.This coursework requires dual submission. You must hand in a hard copy to the Student Support Office (post into the white postgraduate submission boxes outside the office) on or before the stated deadline.
You must also submit a soft copy via Turning on or before the stated deadline. Turning is a plagiarism and collusion detection system. If you do not submit to Turning your work will not be marked. Failure to submit an identical version via Turning compared to your hard copy will attract a penalty of 10 marks.
To submit via Turning, go to the assessment area for the module on VITAL and you will find a link for the coursework. Click on View/Complete and then on the "submit" icon for the paper. You are then prompted to submit a title for the paper. Use the "browse" button to locate the file you want to submit.
You will then be asked to confirm that you want to submit by clicking the miss, submit" button. Coursework Assessment Clarification Coursework will consist of a written assignment. The assignment is worth 30% of the total module mark. The word limit for the assignment is 1500 words.
