In Section 4, you learned about green transportation. Now, you'll apply what you learned.1. Of the alternative fuels and energy sources for vehicles you learned about in Lesson 1, which one do you think is best for the environment? Talk about the environmental impact of your choice and why your choice is better than the other alternatives. (3-8 sentences.

5. 0 points) I would say electric energy is the best for the environment because it can be made from a renewable resource. Electric energy does not release greenhouse gases into the environment. It is also less expensive to produce. Natural gas and propane may burn clear but it’s a fossil fuel.

Electricity can be generated faster, cleaner and more often than any other alternative fuel.2. Hybrid-electric vehicles (HEVs) were the first popular type of green vehicle. Why do you think hybrid-electric vehicles became popular faster than other types of hybrid vehicles or electric vehicles? (2-5 sentences. 4.

0 points) I think hybrid vehicles became popular more fast than other cars because it gave people the choice of which fuel they wanted to use. Hybrid vehicles can run on electricity and or gasoline. Hybrid vehicles gives you more mileage and allows you to go further for longer, when you run out of gas you can go on electricity.3.

List four things you can do to conserve fuel in your own daily life. If you can't think of four things you can do by yourself, list things you could encourage others to do. (Complete sentences are not necessary. 2.

0 points) Four things you could do to conserve energy or fuel would be turn the lights off when you leave a room, unplug things from the circuit if they are not being used, when you go out to the store for one thing get all your errands done in one trip instead of multiple trips and car pull to work instead of driving myself.4. Describe the ways in which your neighborhood or school's neighborhood has been designed for human powered transportation. Talk about the features it has or doesn't have, such as sidewalks, crosswalks for crossing the street, bike paths, bike lanes in the road, or other features. Talk about how the area can be improved to be better for human powered transportation.

If it can't be improved, explain why. (3-8 sentences. 5. 0 points) My neighborhood is a medium sized neighborhood; we have a couple main roads and a lot of side roads we have an area for riding bikes and skateboarding but we also have bike lanes.

My neighborhood has sidewalks and cross walks but our sidewalks need fixed a lot of out sidewalks are broken apart and some of our roads don’t have them. I believe the area where I live could be improved by fixing the roads and sidewalks and maybe putting things in our town to make it more fun.5. Which type of public transportation do you think is best for you personally, and why? Is this type of transportation the most sustainable type of mass transportation? Why or why not? (2-5 sentences. 5.

0 points) The best type of public transportation for me would be a taxi because I don’t like to be around a bunch of people. If I’m going somewhere by myself I would either walk or take a taxi or have my mom take me. Yes this type of transportation is sustainable because it will be here for a while.6.

How could the public transportation in your area be improved? If you think it couldn't be improved, explain why. (2-5 sentences. 4. 0 points) The public transportation could be improved in my area because we only have bussing for school. I think we need to get taxis or even busses to go other places besides school.

If my town did that there would be a lot of people taking them places and they could make good money by adding that kind of stuff. It would also be cheaper for the people.
