Have you ever thought of what your life would be like if you were the president of the United States of America? Many people probably think of the luxuries the president has or maybe the amount of power he has.

The qualities it takes to be the president are probably not as thought about. Just like when people think of coaches, captains, bosses, etc.. To be in a position where people look up to you and follow what you say takes a lot of skills that deal with leadership. Being a leader involves having good communications skills, caring about others, and confidence. In order to be a good and respectable leader, communication is a top quality that needs to be possessed.

Leaders need to know how to properly express themselves in order for their point to get across. They also need to know how to pursue people to see their side of things. When things don’t go as planned, leaders need to be ready to answer any questions given to them. With communicating, leaders also need to be aware to not let their emotions get the best of them. If a leader gets upset and speaks to people with anger and rudeness, people aren’t going to respect that leader as much as they did before. It’s important to be constant with communication so that people can understand what they’re being told and what their leader wants from them.

People want a leader they can talk to, and who will take the time to talk to them. Many leaders today even take communication classes, which teach them about the right way to communicate and also about body language techniques. But in order for leaders to communicate the right way, they need to care about their followers. When a leader doesn’t care about his or her followers, less and less people will be interested in following that leader. For example, if a leader is a command chief in the military and tells his 100 soldiers to go out and fight 2,000 soldiers, he obviously doesn’t care that his team will most likely end up dying. This makes the soldiers see that their leader doesn’t care about them, which will make them dislike their leader.

It’s very important as a leader to care about the people who follow you. Leaders owe their followers respect and their care. If leaders don’t care about their followers, their followers won’t care about the leader. A leader is nothing without his or her followers, because without followers there would be no leader.Being a caring leader will make the followers respect the leader more and more every time the leader does something caring.

People like knowing that they are cared about, it’s a simple fact. Along with caring about their followers, leaders need to possess other skills to upkeep their followers. Confidence is one of those skills. When someone thinks about a leader, the leader they think of must be confident otherwise they wouldn’t be a leader. In order to be a leader, a person must have confidence with themselves. Leaders constantly have to talk in front of their followers.

If a leader isn’t confident in what they’re saying, nobody is going to be confident in what the leader is saying. Leaders need to have the confidence to convince people of their ideas. They also need to be ready to take criticism from others if their ideas aren’t liked. Confidence is always a good trait to have, because people with a confident mind have no problems sharing their thoughts and plans. It’s ideal for a leader to always be confident so followers can believe in what the leader is saying.

Being a leader isn’t as simple as people think. Many people dream of having the position of a leader, but when it’s all thought out, leaders have many different problems they face and they need to possess certain traits to be great leaders. The job isn’t cut out for everyone. Leaders most definitely need to have good communications skills to share their views and plans. They need to care about others in order do their job right. Lastly, leaders need to be confident in themselves so that people believe in what they’re saying and so their actions are never doubted.

All in all, having good communications skills, caring about others, and confidence is what it take to be a great leader.
