“Where'd the days go when all we did was play? And the stress that we were under wasn't stress at all just a run and a jump into a harmless fall” (Nutini.) As this quote suggests, stress is a conflict that in some way results in a ‘run and jump into a harmless fall.’ People cannot liberate themselves from the trap stress has them in, which is the reasoning for my research of how stress can be eliminated. My research centers on the basics and causes for stress, and how to get rid of the stress specifically through exercise. I have learned both through personal experience and through talking to others that stress is one of the most important struggles to overcome as a human in today’s world.
My personal interest of the topic came about gradually through trying to manage school with all of my sports and extracurricular activities. This caused a lot of stress for me and my family, and now I have been researching ways to reduce or eliminate this stress by both learning how stress is made and different strategies to be able to overcome it. Through my research I have concluded it is very difficult to overcome stress, but with determination and strategy, it can become easy. The main ways people relieve stress today is through exercise, competition, vacations, and sleep. I have found that the most popular way of stress relief is through exercise and sports because it effectively releases endorphins that are the hormone needed to be released to become stress-free.
Although not all of these work for all people, there can always be something done that will remove the stress. Unfortunately, some of my questions weren’t answered through my research including the following: what is the fastest way to relieve stress?, is there another way to reduce stress without releasing endorphins?, and how can you find the personal stressors of different people? Overall, the purpose of this bibliography is for people to be able to learn to overcome stress by revealing different methods that may or may not work for all people and to explain the negative effects of stress and why you should attempt to remove it from your life.
