The Song dynasty and the Tang dynasty were two very powerful dynasties that were within modern day China. The change and continuity over time in these dynasties is very interesting how this went about in China. The Tang were a very powerful group from modern day China that had massive influence on the way that the country ended up heading. The powerful Tang Empire (618-907) and the Song Dynasty (960-1279) influenced the outcome of the modern day country China more than they would have guessed at the time.
The Song and Tang Empires also had a good reason for doing what they did to influence China today. The Early Tang Empire had a brilliant emperor Li Shimin who focused on extending his power westward into Inner Asia. Today in China the emperor, or more so dictator, does not try and expand his empire in any directions but instead sits and leaves his country at its size it is at now. Early Tang Empire also had different battle tactics than the Chinese today who use more modern tactics than horsemen and bowmen.
The Song Empire happen to have made many great strides in the arts of measurement, observation and drawing on the work of Indian and West Asian mathematicians and astronomers who had migrated to the Tang Empire. Today the Chinese only mass produce items and are not to involved with the whole ground breaking new and improved ideas anymore. The Song were all into the Confucian ideas and making up new interpretations of Confucian’s teachings. As of now the Chinese mainly just make up the words of Budda, folk religions, and the silly idea that there is no god at all.Many things in modern day China are the same as the Tang and Song Empires from around 618-1279.
The Tang, Song, and modern day China are all getting ruled by one ruler for all the people in their country. In the Song dynasty, the people took it upon themselves that they should educate the women so they can at least read simplified versions of Confucian philosophy. Today in China, they continued on the idea that women should be allowed to be literate. These things did not just happen by accident that the Chinese today do use some of the ideas from the Song and Tang, but also do not use some others.There are countless reasons for why some things have changed, and countless reasons for why some things are the same in the Song and Tang Empires to modern China. China is now much farther advanced than the Tang and Song Empires so that there shows why war tactics have changed and they use different technology.
The Tang, Song, and China all had a single man in charge of government, because of man’s greediness for power and wealth. Today, modern society believes that women should be able to have the same rights as men for reading, and writing.The Chinese might have learned that women being literate is not a bad thing after all from the Song. You can see that the Chinese today have learned alot from The Tang and The Song Empires. They picked and choose what they liked from the past history and kept what they liked and left out what they did not like about the great empires. The change and continuity over time in China from the time of the Song and the Tang to modern day China greatly affected the out come of the country today.
They influenced in educational terms, political terms, and in terms of knowledge in technology with the advancement of both cultures.
