Today, our world is faced with a new problem to deal with. This problem is climate change. Climate change is just one of the problems which is also related with pollution, global warming, environmental problems and many others.

All these problems are related with garbage. Improper garbage disposal poses a lot of problems to our community and to the world. With all of these in mind, we think about the possible solutions to this problem. What is the answer? The answer is recycling. Recycling is a simple process of using up and processing garbage and/or waste materials to be integrated with new and innovative products/foodstuffs.The objective and goal of recycling is to decrease and prevent the waste of possibly useful materials, decrease the use of energy in processing new materials, save money, protect the environment and increase the maximization and lifespan of different products.

Recycling is an important concept/principle of the "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" idea. Many products can be recycled. Glass, plastic, metals, clay items, food, and many other things are very much recyclable. This is done by sorting and segregating biodegrable and non-biodegradable waste. After sorting, the non-biodegradable waste are sorted again and classified according to their classes (glass, plastic, metal etc.

). These materials will now be reprocessed and integrated with other products or used up again to create the same product. This strategy will decrease the amounts of garbage our world produces. Did you know that in Canada alone, household garbage accounts for roughly 45-50% of the waste produced in Canada? Imagine if all those households recycle their waste regularly then the 45-50% would just be around half the percentage. After all the mentioned things about recycling, we can now reflect on the question: Should recycling be mandatory? My answer to that is yes.

Recycling should be mandatory because it does not only help Mother Earth but it also teaches us human beings to be disciplined and to be aware of what the consequences of our actions lead us to. In my opinion, recycling should be made mandatory in ALL countries around the world especially to large industrial countries and largely populated countries.
