Since DigiFast and other companies at River View Plaza have employees with children whose ages range from 6 months to 6 years, I would like to propose a Day Care Center at the 2nd floor area that will serve the needs of working parents and those in nearby communities. The day care center, which will be opened from 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday, will be convenient and practical for the employees.Personnel:The center would employ a manager or director, a registered nurse, pre-school teachers, special education teachers, nutritionist, kitchen and janitorial helpers.
The director will be responsible for the hiring and supervision of employees, scheduling and day-to-day operation of the business. The nurse will look into the healthcare needs of the children and will take the children to the nearest doctor when necessary.Pre-school teachers are certified early childhood educators who will prepare daily lessons and activities for the children. Hiring certified special education teachers is in anticipation that there may be children with special needs and those with developmental problems. The nutritionist and kitchen helpers will prepare meals for the children. The janitorial people will clean the facilities of the day care center.
Facilities:The day care center will abide by the state and local government regulatory practices on the minimum area per child as well as the required number of children per teacher. All areas will be properly lighted and ventilated. Floors will have nonskid covering. There will be children-sized tables and chairs in the study areas. There will be toys in the play areas for gross motor development and sensory stimulation. Mats, pillows, and blankets will be provided during nap time.
Bathrooms, toilets and sinks will be child-friendly. Electric outlets are covered with safety caps. There will be a private area for nursing mothers who want to breast feed their children. During lunch hours, parents can visit their children and have lunch together. For security purposes, parents will be issued a special identification card and children will not be allowed to leave the premises of the day care center and go to their parents’ offices on their own. With the help of our graphic artist, the day care center will be colorful, attractive and conducive to learning.
Educational toys and school materials will be non-toxic and within the quality standard for the safety of the children. For safety reasons, children will not be allowed to bring any toys from home. For parents who could not prepare meals, there will be food served for breakfast, lunch and snacks at an additional cost. Closed circuit cameras will be installed in some areas for the security of the children.
Benefits to DigiFast and River View Plaza Business Offices:There is a growing need for day care centers as mothers tend to work in outside their homes. These days, child rearing is shared by both parents. Having a day care center in River View Plaza would serve employees who have infants and young children below 7 years old. Instead of dropping their young children in other day care centers before going to work, parents would now have the comfort of taking their children with them and leaving them within the premises of the building.This practice would develop a closer relationship between parents and children as children are not left to wait for the school bus on their own. Since there was an incident where a baby died when the father left his son at the backseat of the car on a summer season because he forgot to drop his son at the day care center on his way to work, the daily habit of bringing the child inside the building would prevent this incident from happening.
In addition, there will be security personnel in the parking area to check if there are children left inside the car.The day care facility would benefit the employees of River View Plaza as well as the neighboring community. This would eliminate the hustle of taking the children and fetching them in a day care center that is far from their workplace. Stress would be eliminated and employees would have peace of minds knowing that their children are just within the premises of the building. Hence, employee satisfaction will increase, work will be efficient and productivity will improve.
In addition, due to the convenience of taking the children to the day care center, parents can contribute to the protection of the environment by means of car pooling.
