My authentic desire to help others has driven me to undertake an allied related course or program, that is why I am applying for the Physician Assistant Program. In my choice of which program to enlist in, I have primarily considered academic excellence. All the credentials of the program speak for the strong emphasis towards this thrust, being a fully accredited program of the ARC-PA and being equipped with faculty that are recognized in their respective fields of expertise.I also acknowledge the fact that it is among the best graduate schools and boasts of having a 1st time pass rate in the PANCE.
All of these shall instill in me deep pride if I do qualify into this prestigious program. Still in relation to this thrust of academic excellence is the structure and atmosphere in which learning is undertaken. I feel that the relatively small class size in the program will faciliate learning, in part because there will be greater interaction among students and instructors. These strong bonds are an important foundation for learning. Another noteworthy consideration is finding a program which reinforces holism. Apart from the emphasis on intellect and academic exercise, I also want to belong to a program that works towards a well-rounded individual.
This is embodied in UTHSCSA PA’s system driven curriculum which aims towards a holistic balance between study time and class time.More importantly, its actitivities as an institution reflect its mission of providing quality health services to the underprivileged in South Texas. I sincerely want to be part of an educational institution whose values are congruent with my own. Having considered all these factors convinced me that the UTHSCSA PA program is most suitable. I am thus hopeful that I would qualify for the program, as it will surely help me reach my goal of contributing meaningfully to the community by being a competent, well-rounded, service-oriented Physician Assistant.
