To whom is may concern:I am writing in response to your recent job posting for entry level Firefighter, for the City of Providence. I have recently graduated from Penn Foster with a Diploma in Fire Science Administration, and feel that with my knowledge and education makes me an excellent candidate for the position. As stated in the job posting, this position is responsible for: emergency medical care, fire suppression duties and any other needs of the public. As a teenager I was interested in the fire service, joining as a volunteer recruit. Having volunteered for many years on the fire department has developed my knowledge and skills.
Attending Penn Foster has helped me develop the skills that are necessary to become a Firefighter. Along with the skills acquired from everyday life and coursework through Penn Foster, I am a very hard worker; I have a team oriented work ethic; I work well under pressure; and I have great communication skills. If given an opportunity, I know that you won’t be disappointed. I know that I would be a very valuable employee with the Providence Fire Department.
