God is known as the creator of the universe as he can be seen to have created the world through intelligent design. Therefore it can be elucidated that he should be responsible for everything that happens in the universe.

Some people would say that he is responsible for everything in the universe such as, Christians because they believe he created the world through ‘creatio ex nihilo’, this means created the world out of nothing. This elucidates that God is responsible for everything that happens in the universe because he created the world from nothing using his own hands without help from anything or anyone else and therefore should be held responsible for everything that happens in the universe however some people would argue if God was ‘pleased with what he saw’ then why are there natural disasters and suffering in the world.Christians would reply to this argument that, God created natural disasters and suffering for humans to be appreciative of what they have and this is therefore why god can be seen as responsible for everything that happens in the universe including the bad things. Some people believe that God is not responsible for everything in the world as there are natural disasters and evil and suffering. This elucidates that if God created the world in perfection then he cannot have possibly created the world with faults, otherwise if he did this would not show God as being omnibenevolent as he does not want humans to be happy as natural disasters are cruel and if God did not know this then this would present God as not being omniscient. This is why God can not be responsible for everything that happens in the universe.

Some scientists would say that God is not responsible for anything that happens in the universe because evolution and nature account for everything that happens in the universe. However the counter argument to this from creationists would be that God created the conditions for evolution to take place and therefore is accountable for all that takes place in the argument. From what has been stated above suggests that maybe God is accountable for some things such as the creation of the world and goodness however is not responsible for everything as there is evil and suffering and this would not present God as being omnibenevolent. However, the argument for God being responsible for the world is stronger as he created the world out of nothing and evil and suffering came into the world due to a lack of goodness.
