But he will be a man only for a short time. And then more than a century later, a 15 year old boy, Brennan Cole becomes hung up with the skull he found while camping near Dog Canyon. The skull was pierced by a bullet hole and he later finds out that it belonged to an Apache boy executed by soldiers’ in1864. A mystical bond joins Brennan and Coyote Runs, and Brennan realized that neither boy will find peace until Coyote Runs’ skull is returned to an ancient sacred place.
