{draw:g} Justin Weigt Senior Project Week 2 9/9/09 Personal Analysis CanGo Week 1&2 CanGo’s strength can be described as a well established company. Their foot has been in the door now, and it is time to leadwith those strengths. The CanGo’s staff seems like family and they really care about this company. The last strength of the CanGo Companyis leadership. Liz seems to not only care about the company, but also its employees.

CanGo is a relatively new company who has great success,but it does not mean the company has no weaknesses.After observing a planning meeting, I realized there are many leaders,which could be a weakness in the planning processes. Ideas do flow,but there is no conversation about them. The planning process needs to be discussed in detail. A pros and cons list needs to be made, and a conclusion should be drawn before a marketing plan is put into place.

You need to have everybody on the same page. One person should not create a marketing plan alone; there are many people with many ideas. The opportunities for the CanGo Company are far and wide.With their relatively fast success they have more room to grow. The gaming idea seems like a slam dunk with the proper planning and implementation fueled by the company’s drive to succeed.

The opportunity to turn more profit is there. They have the staff and the resources to expand their profit margins again with the proper planning. The opportunity to expand is always available to successful companies. I would try to reach other markets before trying to expand. CanGo’s threats stem from their innerworkings.

By this,I mean their lack of organization and knowledge of unfamiliar territory. The entire staff seems eager to jump at the best ideas without the proper planning and research. Jumping into the gaming world or expanding without the proper capital or know-how can be disastrous. These can be the biggest threats to CanGo’s success. Other threats include failing in new unfamiliar territory without the proper research and advisement.

Initialimprovements are necessary to the gaming project for it to make its deadline.Nick is having trouble organizing his schedule before he even can get started on his work. The recommendation I have for Nick and the rest of the CanGo’s staff is a Team Organization Software named TUTOS or The Ultimate Team Software Organization Software, which consists of a program that includes task management, time tracking, calendars, address books and documents layouts. (TUTOS)Tutos software will help with the organizational and planning issue that CanGo has been facing with their new ventures.Another recommendation that I have for the CanGo Company is to break into teams for one project at a time. Nick has been working late hours because he is handling the gaming project by himself.

If you give him a team,then you can reassure yourselves that the project will be ready by its deadline. These projects may seem overwhelming to your employees and the responsibility may overcome them. I believe the CanGo Company should give their employees incentives on these projects.These incentives will not only help motivate your employees but also boost moralefor those who are still on the fence about the project. Some of the incentives can be bonuses or extra paid vacations to smaller incentives like taking them all out for a nice dinner or ordering lunch for a week.

When it comes down to prioritizing the new endeavors for the CanGo Company,two things need to be on your mind. What will an expansion do for the company? How much time and money will cost until we can turn a profit? If I could make a suggestion,CanGo is correct about the gaming market.Big name Online companies such as Yahoo, Google and Facebook all have online gaming. Some of the games are free,which are paid for by advertising bought by companies and placed next to those games. The only reason I chose the gaming idea over the expansion idea is because the expansion has too many questions that need to be answered, like how much for the warehouse and extra drivers with the GPS devices. I would run with the idea of online gaming because it is the trend, and the only downside as of right now is your inability to organize, plan,and execute.

I would suggest teams of individuals for the research and development. In conclusion,the CanGo Company is on the right track to improve their business. Every day of work for the staff is a new adventure in the business world. The ability to reach your goals is only hindered by yourselves. You need to organize, plan,and communicate effectively in teams to reach set goals.
