My plans help real Americans at every stage of their lives. From birth through the retirement years, I have a plan to improve education, lower taxes, strengthen Social Security, and provide healthcare, said Bush. In the 2000 presidential election, George Bush and Al Gore will be running against each other and they have set many goals for our country, but Bushs goals seem more reliable. Bushs overall strategy for the stabilization of our nation will give our future the hope it needs.

First, Bush plans to focus on education for all children. Reading plays a major role in all schools; therefore, he wants to promote reading and also donate five billion dollars to make sure every child can read by the third grade (Issues, par. 8). He would like for parents to be able to transfer their children to another school if they are failing.

Teacher quality could also be improved by him providing two billion dollars to train our teachers, especially in math and science (par. 8). Violence has also played a major role in schools all across the country; thus, he wants to improve school safety by requiring all schools to ratify a zero-tolerance policy on not only violence but also classroom disruption (par. 8).Of all the bills we pay in life, medical costs are the most unpredictable and can be the most expensive.

I have a plan to help, stated Bush. Health care is a problem for some citizens; as a result, Bush plans to help. He plans to start off by giving seniors more options, consisting of coverage for yearly physicals, and eye, hearing, and dental care. Bush also wishes to provide seniors with a prescription drug advantage as well as instant support for drug coverage.

Providing patients with a bill of rights is also a part of his plan along with providing admittance to health care for the uninsured and underserved. Now is the time to reform the tax code and share some of the surplus with the people who pay the bills, said Bush. Income taxpayers ought to have a tax cut since some families are unable to afford it.He plans to provide the largest cuts to low and middle income taxpayers. He plans to raise the child tax credit from five hundred dollars to one thousand dollars per child. Since married couples pay higher taxes simply because they are married, Bush plans to cut the marriage penalty.

Bush says, strong families make for a strong America. Families all around the world need hope and help. Since family crisis happens everywhere everyday, Bush plans to provide one billion dollars for programs to help families in any kind of crisis and to protect children (par. 10). He also plans to protect children from the Internet at school and in the library.

Bush plans to increase the five thousand-dollar tax credits for adoption expenses to seventy-five hundred dollars in order to promote adoption. Bush also wishes to set up programs to the fathers who enter their childs life late and unknown. The greatness of America is found not in the halls of Congress but in the homes and hearts of Americans, said Bush. Our communities throughout America need protection and power.

He plans to not only protect our environment, but also our health by hastening the cleanup of industrial sites. To reduce crime, Bush plans to enforce strict gun laws and prosecute anyone who uses a gun in a crime. Bush plans to help our community by providing tools for the New Economy, such as: donating four-hundred million dollars to provide Americans free internet access, computer training, and professional skills (par. 9).

He also plans to preserve Americas natural resources and National Parks by providing four hundred and fifty million dollars each year through the Land and Water Conservation Fund (par. 9).In conclusion, I have chosen not to vote for Gore in the 2000 election for many reasons. Also, Al Gores plan for our nation is weaker than George Bushs plan. First, his plan does not provide regular testing, no way to measure school and student performance and no hope to kids wedged in failing schools. Second, he will require all seniors to pay drug coverage and does not plan to provide other medical expenses such as doctor or hospital bills.

Third, he will not cut taxes for fifty million Americans. He will only give us a tax cut only if we meet his criteria. Fourth, he does not have any plans for married couples and offers no protection against harmful online content. Finally, his plan does not enforce gun law safety or help restore our environment.

I strongly disagree with his plans and hope our citizens will make the right choice as they vote this year.
