Occupational Performance History Interview II (OPHI-II)

Rates the client's *occupational identity* and *occupational competence* and the *impact of occupational behavior settings* Obtains a broad and detailed understanding of the client's life history and the impact of illness, disability, or other trauma on the individual's life. Gives the interviewer a means of understanding the way a client perceives his or her life to be unfolding.

Those able to respond to in-depth interviewing, generally ages 12+ with range of impairments as long as they have cognitive ability to provide a useful life history. *Not Suitable for:* those going through a major life trauma or who are in short-term hospital/clinical stay.

Ipsative, Semi-structured Interview

Interview addresses 5 topics: - occupational roles - occupational behavior settings - activity choices - critical life events Interviewer records data at the end but can take brief notes during the process.

Occupational ID, competence & impact of setting are rated on a 4 point scale as to competent occupational functioning

Test-retest reliability not available. More info on the rating process has improved observer reliability.

The three scales were validated using Rasch analysis, demonstrating that they detect differences in occupational performance.
