HOSEA THE PROPHET

Hosea was a prophet who lived in the northern kingdom of Israel.

Hosea love for Gomer was a symbol for the love God had for Israel.Just as Hosea's wife had betrayed him by being with other men,the people of Israel betrayed God by worshiping other Gods.

The first child was named Jezreel,symbolizing God's punishment for the murders done in that cityThe second child was Loruhamah,meaning "unloved"and the third child was named Lo-ammi,meaning not my people

Hosea message was that if the people gave up their evil ways and returned to God,God would save them again
