RaisorCR 1 Mrs. Teague Eng101B520 02/13/2012 THE BIG EVENT Planning an important event such as a child's birthday party can be stressful but yet somewhat exciting as well, for any parent.
As a mother of four children myself, I can testify that the excitement outweighs the stress- fulness. Deciding on the party place and time, preparing a guestlist, choosing between food options, if any, as well as cake options, then to what extent of fun you want your party to consist of , for instance do you want to play games and dish out prizes and last but not least and the most mportant; the “perfect gift” for the “perfect party”, which is what every parent strives for, is the map to a successful birthday party for your child, which is one of the most memorable moments in their adolescent life. What is the weather like outside? If its winter or even early spring, you want to plan your child's birthday party indoors. For example, If you and your family like to eat and eat a lot, you may want to take advantage of the all-you-can-eat buffet at Ryan's steakhouse with a piece of delicious, mouth watering cake that follows and a brief birthday song sang by a few f Ryan's employees. And may I add, is very cheap, involving only the cost of the buffet, which is nice for those of us parents whom are on abudget. Another winter destination suggestion, and the most popular is of course, Chuck-e-Cheese.
Yet it is not so cheap for someone on a budget, it is however, where we parents can be a kid, and everything you need other than the birthday gift is conveniently provided. If it is summertime, the park is all around the best party spot. It is cheap and fun, with it being free to the public and equipped with playground equipment. That has always been a success in my experiences with birthday parties.
After careful consideration on the destination of the party, now it is time to move on to the invitations. You should allow yourself about two weeks for them to reach their destination. This is one of those times that calls for the “little black book”, as some would call it. Otherwise known as your address book. It is important to get the names and addresses needed for the invitations, from there so that you dont forget anyone. Remember, the more guests at the party there are, the more gifts for your child.
And noone is left out or forgotten about, and have hurt feelings. Now it is time to decide if you want to keep your party short and sweet with just cake and icecream, or if you want to provide snacks as well, or even dinner foods, and have an “all nighter”. In my experiences it was always been more fun and enjoyable with a lot of food, and cake and icecream as a desert. Again, that just all depends on how long of a party you want and how much excitement you want it to consist of, for instance do you want to include games, such as pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey and prizes for the winners.I have always enjoyed the games and prizes myself, but for some its just as fun without all the extras.
But remember that your child's birthday party is the closest we adults get to being a kid, so go all out with it. Last, but not least, and probably more important than be party itself, is the birthday gift. For some parents, that is the easiest part about planning their child's birthday party. But for others as well as myself it is a challenge. Remember, the more guests you invite, the more gifts your child will receive. So dont stress yourself over what to get.
By this time the cake should be done and ready for pick-up. The invitations should have already reached the party guests. And you should have purchased your food items,if you chose to go that route, as well as any extras, meaning games and prizes. Now will be the time to decorate your party spot. Your child's birthday party has been successfully planned and will be a good one.
The children's smile's from all the fun and excitement as a result of a well planned birthday party will definitely be worth all the time and effort contributed to prepare it.
