So it is changing the banking industry to be economically developed in Bangladesh. This study is to look into the impact of Computer and IT on the banking industry in Bangladesh and in particular to what extent customers are satisfied with IT enabled services and contribute to this industry’s growth. The role of Computer and Information Technology (IT) in gaining customer satisfaction and contributions to growth is well recognized. Bangladesh banking industry is growing rapidly, particularly the new generation of local and foreign banks.

Within a short time of their inception the new generation banks are being able to attract good number of customers for rendering fast and efficient services. Therefore, an empirical study has been conducted to determine: The customers’ perceptions on the impact of Computer and IT in banking services, The customers view on the IT enabled services in terms of reducing the interaction between cashier and customer, promptness and efficiency of services and transactions, and The influence of IT in patronizing the Bank and its economic growth.

Nazneen Sultana, Deputy Governor, Bangladesh Bank, who is the architect of digital central bank has shared her views with daily sun about tech-aided next generation banking. Computer network has given a new impetus in the banking sector. It has made banking sector mere dynamic than ever before. Online system has already been introduced in many banking institutions. Now we no more need carry cash money with us to the remotest regions of the country.
