Many people think that the two assailants didn't know what they were doing.
They were insane."They were just shooting. They didn't care who they shot at." This one guy considered himself with the Nazis, and listened to a Techno-Nazi band. He was into combat more than anybody else.
Harris and Klebold were part of an outcast group called the Trenchcoat Mafia. They wore black and spoke German to each other. They believed their choice of Adolf Hitler's birthday for the attack was no coincidence. Students indicated Harris was a leader.
A boy who would come to class (if to war) in steel-toed combat boots and a German cross; while Klebold was a follower. Many people blame it on the Internet, TV and the movies. But were they really insane only because they joined a special clique?
Insanity means a disorder that makes a person not responsible for his actions. An insane person cannot be guilty of a crime.Both students were straight A students; earlier in high school they were motivated in sports, and teachers said they didn't see any problems with their discipline.
So those two guys didn't have any illegal behavior. They had their lives under control. They had no right to shoot the other students; but they did it resulting in a horrible action.
But perhaps they really were insane? No normal person would just shoot 13 people without any reasons. You can't be teased so much that you are going to kill people! Under normal conditions, you would look for a counselor to help you. Those guys had parents.
Why didn't they get help from them? Okay, lots of teens don't want to talk to their parents but that does not give a reason to use a gun. There must have been something going on in their heads and they weren't able to think about it.
Eric and Dylan did not have the patience to live their life how it was. They went insane for some reason; but it must have been over a long period of time that they couldn't handle their lives anymore.Was it insanity because they followed Adolf Hitler? No one knows what will happen when you follow somebody.
But if you do and you get too involved in it, there is a possibility that bad things like this could happen.
