History (What is the story of your community? ) 2. Geography (Location today, location in the past) most gujaratis originate from the northwestern part of india, from the state of Gujarat. Today they have spread to various metros in the contry like Mumbai, delhi, etc.
ut many are now NRIs who have migrated to the United States or UK 3. Do they practice certain specific professions? However not a stereotype, a majority of gujaratis are share traders in the Stock market(day traders), goldsmiths, and a large majority are self-employed businessmen 4.What seems to be the general philosophy driving this community? 5. How does this community relate to the nation and the world at large? 6. What's the literature, poets? 7. Who are the writiers,narsinh Mehta, umashankarjoshi freedom fighters,sardar vallabhbhai patel mahatma kings/queens if any? as earlier under chandraguppta maurya, then rajput clan the original inhabitants,but they later gave way to the mughal sultanate, and the Marathas who fought extensively for these territories, there are still minor kings with nominal power in regions like vadodara and bhavnagar (Past and present) 8.
What is the attire? Traditional attire is kurta pyjama or dhotis, now more formalmore western however some still wear kurtas Women- saris were traditional, now more informals and western influenced, but still salwar kameez is often worn as well as saris too but mainly for occasions and events 9.Is there a specific food? Yes I did know about a lot of this information through personal experience gained from discussions with parents, some of it I have read in the newspapers, and also as I learnt gujarati as a language in school I am familiar with the poets and literature.
