An analysis of chapter 5 or Frankenstein.
(Close consideration of how the chapter relates to its historical and literary context and to the rest of the novel) The novel Frankenstein was written in 1815. The novel was written by marry Shelley and she was 18 years old at the time. She finished writing the book at the age of 20. One reason why she wrote the novel was because she was brought with out her parents. They had died whilst she was very young. Science was new to the public and the public didn't think it was right, because scientist were testing nature and trying to play god.
The story tells us about a university student called victor Frankenstein who had a great deal of interest in science, mainly chemistry. The reason he wanted to go to university was because he wanted to study medicine because he didn't agree with people. Chapter 5 In the few moments after the creature has been brought to life, Frankenstein realises that he has been deluding himself; he did recognise that the creation was not as beautiful as he wished it to be whilst he was putting the body parts together. However, once life was instilled in his creation he realised that it was ruly ugly. How can I describe my emotions at this catastrophe, or how delineate the wretch whom with such infinite pains and care I had endeavoured to form?
