Whilst being employed over the years, I’ve come to the realization that the value of continuing education beyond high school is worth the investment. It was at this time that I decided to invest in my future by enrolling in a college education program at Ashworth College. College graduates enjoy increased income and stature in society as a whole.

This therefore means that in today’s society earning a college education will most likely enable me to earn more money, as opposed to just a post secondary education. I am also of the opinion, that an investment in education is a secure investment in life. Higher education will allow me to take my education to the next level: learning new things and getting to where I want to be.A higher education qualification can also lead to better promotional opportunities and a more rewarding career. I see myself in the long-term future, contributing to an organization that is innovative and growing and an investment in my education will make my dream become a reality. It will allow me to become more competitive in the job market.
Also there is the likelihood of promotion in my current work field as a Sales Representative, to a managerial level. In the book: What is College For?The Public Purpose of Higher Education Lagemann and Lewis emphasizes and states “At a time when higher education attendance has never felt more mandatory for career success and economic growth, the distinguished contributors to this provocative collection ask readers to consider the civic mission of higher education as equally vital to the nation's well-being. Should higher education serve a greater public interest? ” This point expresses, that more emphasis should be placed on improving the awareness of a college education and that there should be an increase in public attention.A college educated person leads a more examined life for critical thinking and reasoning skills, which will stay with the individual for a lifetime. I am presently looking for a change in my life and I truly believe that pursuing an online education in obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Business Management, will make this possible. One the greatest benefit of pursuing this degree online is the flexibility it allows with my personal schedule.
With the online learning environment, it affords me the choice to attend classes and earn my degree from home.I am a single mother of one and I am able to schedule my time around work and daily chores/ activities in order for me to study. At nights, I study for at least 2 hours in order to complete exams/ assignments the following day. Although the cost of a college education is expensive, I am not discouraged. Ashworth College’s online degree program allows me to pay for courses as they are taken. The low interest free tuition makes it affordable and more cost effective.
Overall, a College education will provide me with many more new and exciting opportunities that I never would have experienced with just a basic high school education. With the aspects of higher education, a more satisfying and rewarding career and low monthly tuition costs, I am very enthusiastic and excited to complete this degree program. In the long run I do believe that this college experience will be worth the time, money and investment and at the end of it all I will become a more rounded individual.
