Influence in a variety of ways affects a child’s behavior and so are the adults too. Electronic media affects the child’s ability to communicate and increase intelligence quotient. A cartoon network really performs much on the child’s ability to communicate and pronounce the English language well. On some scripts and television shows where there are incentives given to performing audiences, a child must be guided while watching these type of shows. One example is the child of a friend of mine who is watching a show that will give chocolates and toys to kids who will be participating in the play. He is six years old and in his mind he knows he needs to enter the television set in order to participate.
So he went up to the table and tried to enter the TV monitor. It resulted to a big crash and he was angry why he cannot get inside to get his prize. It is funny but it is true. One can never make how the mind of a child runs. There is a growing need to establish television rules and which shows to watch and time management between entertainment and performing activities in the real world.
Passivity. Hypothetically multimedia has its own unique compelling way of affecting family life. It collects the totality of a human mind with regards to its senses to passivity in his surroundings to concentration on the show or games on hand.It increases neglect to relationships between couples and between children and often results to quarrel as to the kind of show that they must resolve to watch at the moment in groups. The mind shift needed to do real activity is being delayed for a considerable time that results to constantly forgetting certain duties and responsibilities or even performance of a simple mathematical computations.
Unlikely, the actors and actresses roles define the emerging characteristics and attitudes of both child and adult. There is a growing list of copycats with regards to hairstyles, lifestyle, and religion. It has formed another you and changed your inner self to another personality. The events and scripts may take its form to real situations initiated by the viewers themselves.
The effect is long and deep and it is getting into the system of both child and adult. Taking into account the unguarded influence of attitudes and dialogue creations towards emotions and future acts has a lot to do with the personal and social effect it can do in his lifetime.Passivity is most plausible in everyday life. People never give a care to elements of communications and bonding relationships anymore when they are in front of a TV game or computer. The program itself will serve to increase more of his energy and enthusiasm to drive him to finish the show or the game. Relationships and communication suffers all the time and it is getting into the system of every family in US.
The effect of the shows and its influence is stronger than the teachings and the lectures we get from our parents and our school. (Winn, M, 200).The very reason why exposure to TVs and computers shall be closely monitored and time limited. Televisions and computers are good forms of information and recreation but only to a certain level, too much exposure is not good to the human mind and the body. The reality of watching televisions is that the viewer is migrating into another virtual world created by media and he got to take a shift to reality to be able to perform other activities. Images flow and it is being controlled by the sender in a variety of ways we are unconsciously following.
However, being totally passive and engrossed by these images is totally frustrating to oblige a child to stop and study. A mutual agreement must be met for viewing and management of responsibilities. The only way to stop passivity is turning these things off to allow our brains to start thinking logically on its own. Computers and televisions make a viewer passive and not thinking.
Response is essentially eliminated because it does not give chance for the individual to think but only allows the individual to accept those provisions from streams of electronic images.
