My aim for applying to New York University is to secure an admission to the Master of Science graduate program in Information Systems. My objective for applying to the graduate program Masters in Information Systems at the New York University is to train myself to be a business analyst or a technology consultant in the Information Technology management industry in the near future. My long term objective is to venture into the field of Information Technology Management by pursuing a MBA degree after gaining relevant industry experience as a MSIS graduate.I like to envision myself leading a team helping organizations to develop strategies through efficient technology management and planning. I have always been interested in business side and management perspective of an organization.

During undergraduate studies I was introduced to the fundamental aspects of management and other related issues within an organisation through curriculum subjects such as the Fundamental of Economics, Management for I. T. Professionals, Management Information System and e-Commerce & Enterprise Resource Planning.I want to dwell into the factors that affect the competitive performance of a business enterprise, and the manner in which changes in technology affect an organization’s structure, long-term business strategy, product development, manufacturing, supply chains, distribution network, information needs and standard systems. In order to gain an appreciation of these and related issues, it is essential for me to have a good understanding of economics, supply chain management, and issues connected with information technology, as well as gain a general management perspective.

This is the reason why I have decided to pursue a Master of Science in Information Systems, at the New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business and Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, as my next career step. Up till now I have worked for two different and reputed organisations in my country, India – Tech Mahindra Limited as a Technical Associate and Intelli Business Solutions as Associate Software Engineer. My experiences at both these unique and different places of work greatly added to my organisational experiences and knowledge base. As I have always wanted pursue something that had a blend of both disciplines, I. T.

and Management, I have decided not to continue in the job and instead look forward to accomplishing my dream of higher education in the field of Information Systems before entering the I. T. and the software industry again. From a young boy without a particular direction to a young man with such definite focus, I have come a long way.During this journey, it was not just my hard work but influence of people around me that also contributed towards my growth.

I had secured for myself a place in the Himachal Pradesh University Institute of Information Technology, India accredited by All India Council for Technical Education, earning my Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology with honors in 2010. Hereby, I had the good fortune of having well delineated syllabi, which placed equal emphasis on theoretical fundamentals as well as their practical applications.I was also greatly involved in the student bodies and the extra-curricular activities of our institution as an ITSA (Information Technology Student Association) member successfully organizing and coordinating various functions, plays, debates and quizzes. My decision to apply to New York University is based on the excellent course curriculum offered, the computing facilities at the campus, the possibilities of research and the opportunity of studying in one of the most developed nations in the world.

I believe that I possess the motivation, intellectual ability and preparation to set out on this exhilarating and arduous path and make significant original contributions to the on-going work. I am confident that the international and the multi-cultural diversity of the student bodies will open my mind to new influences, new ideas and new ways of doing things in life. I strongly feel that the graduate study at New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business and Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences will be the most logical extension of my academic pursuits and a major step towards achieving my career objectives.I sincerely hope that my I. T.

background, qualifications, academic achievements and work experience over the years are found suitable by the admissions review body, for pursuing MS in Information Systems at the New York University.
