The same sex marriage has been widely debated in many countries for a long time. As homosexual marriage concerns basic morality and human rights, it becomes an important issue.

Although many people are against the legalization of same sex marriage, in my opinion, the same sex marriage should be sanctioned and legalized. Firstly, being a homosexual is not an option. Homosexuality is an unalterable aspect of gay people’s identity. It is biologically determined.

Thus, it is so unfair if their marriages are not admitted. We do not own any rights to judge homosexuals as abnormal, nor do we hold any rights to forbid their love and marriage. However, there is now growing support for the belief that homosexuality is a malady and it can and should be cured. And many of these “cures” are revolve around psychological therapies. Nevertheless, as the American Psychological Association (APA), the world’s largest association of psychologists pointed out that “ Homosexuality is not a mental disorder and the APA opposes all portrayals of lesbian, gay and bisexual people as mentally ill and in need of treatment due to their sex orientation.

”Moreover, gay marriage is a civil right. Homosexual are “human beings born free and given bestowed equality and dignity” (Hillary Clinton, 2011). Besides, civil and political rights are defined as a class of right that protect individual’s freedom. Therefore, homosexual should have right to make marriage and access legal protections and benefits that come with marriage licenses as other straight couples.

Nevertheless, many researches have demonstrated that there are many unjustified treatment for homosexual. For instance, some obligations and protections in the USA which are denied to homosexual: adoption rights, social security benefits, automatic inheritance. Therefore, to save human justice, same-sex couples should be allowed to publicly celebrate their commitment in the same way as heterosexual couples. In addition, the right for homosexuals to marry would not affect straight marriage.

Getting married should be ambiguous regardless of the genders of each party.Equal rights should be achieved in that anybody could get married. On the contrary, many people are against gay marriage because they considered that same-sex relationship would harm the institution of marriage. Nonetheless, that consideration is just prejudice, because the definition of marriage has been implementing many reforms and improvements throughout the course of our history.

In the past, interracial marriage was illegal. Yet, 45 years later, more than 2.3 million interracial couples have happily married and started families.Modern society understands this to be an unjust law that denied equal rights to couples who loved each other.

And homosexual marriage is not dissimilar. In a nutshell, same sex marriage is a prominent debating issues which are tough to break. However, in my view, gay marriage is a fundamental right that all human beings deserved. Therefore, the government should federally legalize gay marriage.
