Enrolment in Loreto implies on the part of the pupil and parents willingness to comply with the requirements and regulations of the school.1. All rules and regulations must be observed and followed as required. 2. This being a Catholic Private School, all pupils must attend the weekly school masses.
3. All pupils must participate in all school activities. All pupils must be in correct P.E. uniform during P.E.
lessons, evening games, sports day and swimming gala. 4. Pupils are expected at all times to behave obediently and respectfully towards the teachers and other staff members in the school. They are to show gentleness and courtesy towards their fellow pupils. Vulgar language, screaming and noisy behaviour are not allowed.
5. Pupils may not leave the school compound without prior permission from the Deputy Head teacher or class teacher. In case there is need a gate pass will be issued and the pupil will sign in the school office. 6.
All text books and exercise books should be covered with suitable paper and well labeled. They should be treated with care and kept clean. Any pupil who damages a book will be asked to replace it with a new one. 7. Pupils must treat school property with care at all times and must keep the classrooms and school environment clean at all times.
Eating and drinking in the classrooms and on the school buses is not allowed at any given time. 8. Any pupil responsible for damaging school property of any kind or the property of other pupils must pay for the repair or replacement.9. Pupils are expected at all times to be in correct uniform with simple hair style – straight lines or Kilimanjaro for the girls, well neat short hair for the boys. The length of the dress for the girls must always be below the knees.
10. Toys and comics should not be brought to school. Pupils are not permitted to exchange toys, books, felt pens etc. If a child brings these or other things home they should be returned to the class teacher as soon as possible. 11. Chewing gum should never be brought to school at any given time.
12. Undesirable magazines, books, novels, DVDs, Ipods, CDs or videos may never be brought into school. Mobiles phones and any other electronics devices should not be brought to schools either. Once these are confiscated they will not be given back to the owner. 13.
Blow out, jells, pump or fancy hair styles and hair colors are not allowed. Red and white hair bands or ribbons may be used to hold the hair. Nail polish, make up may not be worn in school. 14. Each pupil is expected to have a diary which may conveniently be used for brief communications between teachers and parents. Pupils should enter each day’s homework in the dairy and parents are expected to check that the work has been completed, to note the teacher’s remarks and to sign the diary.
15. Pupils who have been absent or late should have the reason for this irregularity entered on the record pages of the diary. Absenteeism of any nature should be communicated to the class teacher as soon as possible. 16. Pupils should not carry excess money. They should not have more than kshs.

School reports will be sent by post or collected from the school office as advised. Those who wish to get their reports through the post office should bring a stamped and correctly addressed envelop to the class teacher before the end of the term. 20. School Fees should be paid in full before the first day of the school term. Any child whose fees would not have been paid and cleared within this time will be sent out of class. 21.
Parents who plan to transfer their children to other schools are required to give a one month notice to the school and return all the textbooks to the librarian before clearing. No refunds of schools fees will be made.22. Parents are expected to co-operate the school by enforcing self-control and discipline by maintaining a positive encouragement to their child/children’s academic progress.
23. Parent may not seek interviews with teachers during class hours unless permission is sought out through appointment. Teachers may not leave their classrooms during a teaching period. 24.
Parents are also requested to check the pupil’s written exercises and to sign them daily. If an exercise is careless or untidy it should not be signed until it has been carefully redone. All memory work is important and should not be overlooked. Serious attention should be paid to tables, spellings, SST, science and Handwriting.
25. Parents are requested to see their children attend school punctually and they are collected punctually at the school closing time. Pupils waiting to be picked in the evening should wait in the school lower hall. 26. Punishment/Correction will be given to any child who fails to follow the above rules and regulations.
27. The principal in consultation with the staff reserves the right to require the withdrawal of any pupil whose conduct and progress are unsatisfactory.
