For Guy Montag, I would recast his character as Tom Hanks in the movie. In the many movies Tom Hanks has starred in, he has been searching for meaning to either his life or something/someone else. A good example of this would be in The DaVinci Code where he cracks a secret Leonardo has hidden in his works of art and innovation. In Turner and Hoot, we also see Tom Hanks learning to accept new people, or animals, into his life.

He also is actively attempting to crack a police case he has been working on.The similarities between Guy Montag and Tom Hanks' many roles are rather significant. Much like the characters of Tom, Guy spends most of the book searching for a meaning to his life and society as a whole. He suddenly pulls his way of life into question, trying to find some secret he's been missing.

He also allows the thoughts and ideas of new people (Clarisse McClellan) to affect how he himself thinks and views the world around him. It is for these reasons that I think Tom Hanks should play Guy Montag in the Fahrenheit 451 movie.Captain Beatty: For Captain Beatty, I would recast his character as Al Pacino in the movie. Considered one of the best actors of all-time, Al Pacino normally takes on the dominant, leader role in his movies.

In The Godfather 1 and 2 (Let's just forget about 3...), he makes his way up to being the Don of the Corleone Mafia family.

He assumes the powerful position and is quick to punish anyone he sees as going against what he believes. In Scarface, he determinately makes his way to the head of an illegal cocaine cartel. Much like in Godfather, he ruthlessly rules his organization. These two roles of Al Pacino are very similar to the traits and job of Captain Beatty.

All three men are in charge of whatever mob, gang, or department they are a part of. Along with being the leader, they also rule with an iron fist. Captain Beatty is very open about his hatred and intolerance for books and readers of books. When he hears about a smuggler, he acts upon it very quickly with little to no remorse for his actions. These are the reasons that I believe Al Pacino should play Captain Beatty in the Fahrenheit 451 movie.

Professor Faber: For Professor Faber, I would recast his character as Ian Holm in the movie. Ian is most famous for his role in Lord of the Rings where he plays Bilbo Baggins, an old hobbit. He is able to show a great deal of wisdom about him the way he acts. He is also able to throw in a tad bit of crazy into the act of his character. In the movie, Ian acknowledges the fact that the ring must be destroyed in order to save the world, but he cannot bring himself to let it happen. In the book, Professor Faber is nearly identical to Ian Holm’s character, Bilbo Baggins.

They are both old, wise men who have been through a lot in the world. They also both let off a tad of kooky in their character. The most important similarity between them is their acknowledgement of how they are holding back the help for society. In the book, it is how Faber knows that it is people like him who are too scared to speak up against against book burning that won’t stop it. In Lord of the Rings, it is how Ian Holm knows that the ring must be destroyed to stop the war, but he cannot bring himself to let go of the ring easily.

These are the reasons why I believe Professor Faber should be recast as Ian Holm in the Fahrenheit 451 movie. Granger:For Granger, I would recast his character as Hugo Weaving in the movie. Hugo is most popular for his role in the Matrix, where he plays Agent Smith. While he is not necessarily human or even alive, Agent Smith still is an embodiment of underground intelligence. His actions and choices of dialect are almost robotic.

He knows a massive amount of intelligence, and by the way he acts you know it.These ways that Hugo Weaving portrays his character is the same way as Granger is portrayed in the book. He is a very intelligent man, memorizing countless numbers of books. The way he speaks and talks is, along with Hugo, robotic and just by reading the things he says, you know he is very smart.

This is why I would choose Hugo Weaving to be recast as Granger in the Fahrenheit 451 movie.
