This is a kind of psychological test that is well designed to test the psychological stability and mental soundness of an individual. It is done by making a person respond to different ambiguous stimuli, these stimuli are to reveal the inner hidden emotions and the internal conflicts.

The projective test response are not analyzed according to the set standards yet they are content an analyzed. This is to say that they are not based on some presumptions about meaning as being analyzed in objective tests (Coon and Mitterer, 2006).Projective tests are psychologically generated that understand that human beings have both conscious and unconscious attitudes and motives. These attitudes are stored visually and not verbally and therefore cannot be verbally retrieved using some objective tests.

The unconscious attitudes are person’s defense mechanisms that are either repression or projection and therefore to analyze these tests we use the projection test while only conscious thoughts are seen in someone’s verbal expressions and therefore the use of objective test. Coon and Mitterer, 2006).There are many ways for carrying out the objective test the main one being the Rorschach ink blot test patient is asked to look at each blot and to say what it looks like or what it could be. Because the stimulus is ambiguous, the patient must impose his or her own structure. In doing so, thoughts, feelings, and themes, some of which are unconscious, are projected into the material.

(Coon and Mitterer, 2006).The second method of projective test is the use of Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), here the patient is asked to tell stories and clear analysis about pictures, the Sentence Completion test, Draw-A-Person, and House-Tree-Person are some of its names. The TAT is often used in a test battery in conjunction with the Rorschach. The TAT provides information about important themes in a person's life or the content of their thinking, whereas the Rorschach provides information about the process and form (Coon and Mitterer, 2006).During therapeutic process the main aim to the psychologist or the psychiatrist is to understand and clearly learn both the uncurious mind and the conscious mind of the patient.

This is very much necessary in giving psychiatric helps to patients. It is valued by psychiatrists so much because if well analyzed gives a clear picture of the mind of the patient.
