The Scottish Ballad Lord Randall is about a young man who comes home from the woods and is met by his mother. The poem’s refrain “For I’m wearied wi huntin” is the reason the young man is requesting his mother to make his bed.
In the middle of the poem the refrain was changed to “For I am sick at the heart. ” The effect of this change on the interpretation of the poem is on the attitude of the mother, from worrying about his son’s condition to worrying what his son would leave her and the rest of the family when the son dies.In the Western Wind, the lover is longing for his beloved. He is hoping for the winds to bring the rain. The rains would keep them indoors, where they can enjoy the warmth and privacy of the hours.
The lover, having experienced the sweetness and the joy of being with his beloved would like a repeat of such a wonderful time. Musee des Beaux Arts is about apathy or the uncaring attitude of people towards the misfortune of others. Icarus and his father Daedalus are Greek mythical characters who escaped Crete using the wings Daedalus made for both of them.Icarus did not follow his father’s instructions on the proper use of the wings and such obstinacy caused him to fall to his death.

The Spondee has only two syllables and both are accented. The Spondees are purely Dimetric, while the Dactyls change meters when combined with Spondees.
