DESCRIPTION OF THE BUSINESS My business is about partnership.

The name of the business is Glen & Wyatt’s fast food restaurant. We are co-partners; the two of us will hire a number of persons to play a particular role in the job. I need waiters/waitress, cashiers, chefs, dishwashers and janitors. The waiters/waitresses will take customers’ orders, serve food and beverages, prepare itemized checks and sometimes to accept payment.

The cashiers are in charge of the registers. This would include cash and credit card transactions. The chefs are responsible for all that goes on in the kitchen. He/she should be responsible for hiring and training other cooks. Some of the meals that they may cook are chicken, fish, oxtail, cow foot and so much more. The dishwashers keep the kitchen staff supplies clean, for example: dishes, pots, plats and all the utensils.

The janitors clean the tables and wipe the floor when it is needed. JUSTIFICATION OF LOCATION My restaurant will be located at 15 King Street, Kingston 10, Telephone no: 457-9337 or email me at: Glen Wyatt’s fast food@yahoo. om. My restaurant will be in front of the carwash.

People who are washing their motor vehicles can stop by and get something to drink and eat some food. SELECTION OF APPROPRIATE LABOUR I will need to employ a full-time cook, a part-time cook to relieve the head cook when he goes on leave or needs extra help, three waitresses, a janitor, and a buyer and a part-time accounting clerk. Sources of fixed and working capital My sources of fixed and working capital are funding all my savings and a loan from the commercial bank. Some examples of fixed assets that will be bought are equipment, furniture’s, dishes, glassware, silverware and cookware’.

Some examples of working capitals are the food inventory, supplies, and worker’s wages and salaries. ROLE OF THE ENTREPRENEUR The entrepreneur seeks disequilibrium; this is a gap between the wants and the needs of customers and the products services that are currently available. The entrepreneur then brings together the factors of production necessary to produce, often and sell desired products and services. They invest and risk their money and other people’s money to produce a product or service that can be sold at a profit.

Types of Production The type of production that I have is a restaurant. Food and drinks will be produced daily for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Recipes will be used to produce the menu for the day. Appendix Foods http://t3.

The description will take into account the fact that the meals will be served to local residents and tourists who visit the area. Quality control measures I will consider the consistency of the quality of the meals, so that each day the meals will be the same high standard.

Blind testing of the meals can be done to ensure that consistency of quality. Quality control checks ensure that what is offered on the menu is what is delivered to the public and not substitutes for the real dishes, for examples, fruit juices and not fruit drinks.A second measure would be the timely production of meals. The firm will ensure that checks are done involving time management and productivity, so that patrons do not have to wait too long for meals or food; items. Customer’s service is important; staff should be friendly, happy and customer service oriented. USE OF TECHNOLOGY The technologies that are been used in my business are computers.

These electronic devices can be used for accounting, sales, inventory control, purchasing and so much more. The internet can be used to advertise my business online so person can come and enjoy a good cooked meal.Linkages The restaurant would link backward for raw materials to produce food and drink. Fruits, vegetables, herbs, meat and milk may be bought from farmers and as inputs. Forward links with the packing materials can be bought from producers to be used when selling takeout and other fast-food-items. Local materials (such as fabric) this can decorate the restaurant.

Potential for growth The expansion may come from Government inputs for example: The government may be providing loans to my business, thus it drives the potential to expand at a minimal cost.Government regulations In my business industry there is need for workers to have handler’s permits. Workers are expected to be paid the minimum wage, and overtime when worked, in keeping with government regulations. The restaurant will also have to conform to pollution prevention and zoning laws. Ethical issues Well the food that is been cooked is healthy and the cost is justified.

I will also pay some workers meagre wages and require that they work long hours. Communication of information in a logical way using correct grammar
