This company had previously met with a lot problems and business crisis due to lack of organizational skills and strategies. Earlier the list of managers and subordinates was not up to the mark, the company’s selection procedure was not adequately lined up so to overcome this issue it is suggested to pay keen attention towards the managers and employee selection process.

Finally, as a consultant the organizational structure should be excellent ecause the employers are the one who runs the organisations. 1) Introduction 1. 1) Background “Airstar Inc. manufactures, repairs, and overhauls pistons and jet engines for smaller, often previously owned aircraft” (Daft, 2008, p.

84). It has been observed that air star company is facing problems in their organizational structure and strategies which consist of decision making, complete knowledge to the employees and many more reasons which led them down. It is currently facing a major challenge adapting itself to the changes around and regaining the position it held few years back. The president under the assumptions of a stable environment has an outdated view. Due to many problems this company could not maintain its goals and policies as it was not well panned and organized. The organization does not have clear strategies to be used to deal threats and weaknesses occurring in the business.

The founder had been not encouraging team work and did not carry out his duties fully. This was the reason of the organization’s downfall. This brought the fights between the vice president and the controller over mergers and acquisition opportunities. One major problem this company is facing is that that it is not clear in the organization who is supposed to report to whom. This made difficult for the president to acquire information about export finances. 1.

2) Objectives The first thing is to accept the adverse changes that have been caused over a period of time which have hampered the smooth working of the business. These changes and issues cannot be neglected and an immediate action has to be taken to survive in the rapid moving environment and to be able to compete with the competitors like General Electric and Pratt and Whitney. He is managing hypothetically organized environment. President needs both management and Leadership skills to provide direction for the company. As a consultant, I would advise Mr. Morgan to implement certain strategies and plans to bring in discipline in the working of the business and this would only be possible if Mr.

Morgan enhances his leadership abilities. In addition to this, business tasks and organizational structure also need to be revised. 1. 3) Scope Our study and analytical report will also focus on the personnel management as well as the responsibility and authority of each supervisor.Management emphases on establishing detailed plans and schedules for achieving specific results, then allocating resources to accomplish the plan. Leadership calls for creating a compelling vision of the future for the company and developing farsighted strategies for producing the required changes needed to achieve that vision.

2) Problems The change process has the biggest impact on the working environment. Airstar underwent a lot of problems which were experienced in terms of production and a need for transformation at different levels of an organization. The mutual effect relationships were not explored with other systems in an organization which was also a drawback for the company. A tentative explanation was formulated regarding the changes experienced by the company and its efforts to move from dependency to interdependence and problems with mutual relationships.

This hypothesis was to improve the structure of the organization. (Van Eden 2010). 2. 1) Acceptable approach: President is not good in planning skills. Company is under stress and moving towards their ground level, still his approach is not clear.Acceptable approach is required at this very state of time.

2. 2) Relationships: The employees write their own job descriptions and there is a significant amount of conflict. This shows the relationship between employees and managing committee is not so good. President must develop personal relationships with the employees to motivate energize others and to unlock the qualities of employees so they can work toward the fulfillment of the company’s goals 2. 3) Personality: Vice President is much concerned about the strategies for a sound company. He should be ranked higher.

He proposed that the group study, the organizational chart and the various corporate business tasks. The strategies espoused by him in his study, can be used by the company to increase organizational competitiveness by improving their employees’ level of engagement. 2. 4) Ineffective communication: Communication plays an important role in the development of trust within an organization.

Trust of co-workers, supervisors and top management influenced the organizational openness, which in turn influenced the ratings of the employees of their own level of involvement in the organization’s goals .The connection between trust and communication is complex which creates a confused atmosphere in the company. When in an organization the structure is not well defined, a bad communication is generated which causes serious conflicts. The organization is being increasingly disordered, instead of maintaining the standards of the company, there is a repetition of poor communication. 2.

5) Dishonesty: The importance of developing an honest behavior plays a vital role in the working of an organization. A dishonest employee is not only influenced by individual factors, but also how employees are treated by management. The fairness of employees’ attitude can influence dishonest behavior (Mastilak et al. 2011). 3) DISCUSSION: 3. 1) Factors influencing the growth: Strategy has become a catch all term in today’s business world.

It is time to rediscover the basics of what strategy is all about. Strategy is not the mission; it is the plan that allows the company to accomplish the mission. Many companies fail to accomplish their goals not because they are incompetent but they do not have a grasp of what a business strategy really is more accurate way to win in any business is to anticipate the future and then build the strategy.Strategy has nothing to do with the goals and objectives; instead it defines how those things are going to be achieved.

After formulating various strategies, they need to be implemented, managed and monitored by the business process (Strategy International 2000). In this case, Air star needs to build up stronger strategies to flourish their business. Earlier ones were not up to the mark which collapsed the organization. Communications were lacking between the employees. Simple communication strategies influence the honest behavior in the workplace. Decisions were not implemented properly which changed the structure of an organization.

The rapid change in the industry led to emerging competitions for which this company’s organizational structure needs to be designed in an efficient way with apt structure and strategies. The tasks should be divided among the employees to decrease the workload in order for better output. 3. 2) Strategies:- 3. 2.

1) Planning: The first and foremost step to improve the performance of an organization is to gather and analyze the data and information, which means planning. Strategize the organization’s future and set the course of action which includes knowledge, skills and ability for optimal execution of the plan.Planning also consists of accurate methodologies, tools and techniques to ensure effective and efficient execution (Simerson 2011). Planning is both narrow and broad in nature.

In its broad perspective, it involves managing the organization’s mission and in its narrow sense, it involves the strategies and tactics that the organization will use in order to achieve its objectives. The employees are grouped together in order to achieve their organizational goals and objectives. In the process of planning, short term as well as long term goals is required to be followed by each and every employee for better results. .

2. 2) Management and organizing: Management problems are the leading cause of business failures. It is very important to discuss management qualifications and structure. Resumes of principals should be included in the supporting data. If the business will have few employees and rely heavily on outside professionals, list of those key people along with their qualifications should be provided.

Basically organizing is the management process that involves the establishment of the internal organizational structure of the specific organization depending on the industry’s managing skills. It is also concerned with the issue of assigning tasks to different employees as well as setting deadlines and allocating resources that will be enough to accomplish the assigned tasks without affecting the overall organizational behavior. Each and every employee is made clear about his/her tasks so that they are kept on their toes to make sure all the objectives are achieved. Systematic management and its organization would surely enhance the company’s growth if these functions are performed in a systematic approach.

3. 2. 3) Leadership: There is always a difference between a leader and manager. The responsibilities of a leader are more than a manager. To develop a profitable organization, irrespective of the number of leaders, all of them must perform their leadership role efficiently for effective outcomes.

The role of the management involves establishment of long-term goals, planning, setting budgets and allocation of necessary resources which should lead by leadership skills. The activities which are followed by the leaders are establishing and communicating with the employees and their vision, the organization’s mission and most importantly the strategy. On the opposite side of the management, the leadership role is concerned with the changing process that is all the changes necessary are made by the leaders for the betterment of the organization. This is the reason of leadership becoming highly important as the business environment has got increasingly competitive and visionary. So, Mr.

Morgan needs to advance his leadership skills and focus on innovation and ongoing improvement strategy which can lead to an accomplished organization (Domnica 2012). 3. 2. 4) Teamwork:Working in a team builds greater interpersonal skills effectively at more complex levels. As the skills develop, more options become possible to an individual regarding a particular program. Some programs are meant which are handled smoothly by an individual but at some point to decrease the workload, more resources may be required.

Team is basically a collection of people who interact to achieve a common goal. The input of various talents would definitely improve the working of a company. Teamwork promotes creativity and individuality.Members are required to attend all the meetings where team goals and personal goals are discussed which can only be accomplished through teamwork.

Morover, team problems are also considered. Working in a group advance towards conflicts which should be avoided. One leader should be selected among them whose selection should on the basis of highest status of that person in an organization. Decision making can only be successful if and only if every member of the team agrees upon it that is; contribution of each member is required (Gibson, Moore and Leuder 1980).Teamwork also welcomes innovation as every member would have his/her own ideas for development which should be applied to bring innovatory ideas for accomplishing a particular task.

3. 2. 5) Decision making: Decision making is a fact of managerial life. For effective decision making, managers have to consult with all the stakeholders as it is critical to organizational success.

At some point managers are unenthusiastic to involve employees in the process of decision making which brings differences between employees and the managers or stakeholders. It is one of the most important responsibilities of organizational leaders and managers. To improve the ability to make effectual and fast decision-making is performed by the most essential skilled leader. He has to keep four elements in consideration before arriving to a decision that is, the input quality, level of influence, clear understanding of the goals and ideas on how to achieve those goals. Decision making in an organization is a continuous process. To maximize the possibilities of successful decisions, the members of the organization are supposed to draw on significant, certain, accurate and complete data.

Sometimes fake and copied data is also available which makes the decision maker’s job crucial to judge the importance of the data. In that case data evaluation needs to be done by providing guidance for decision makers and determine the plausible efficiency of the data to take their decisions (Guerra-Lopez and Thomas 2011). 3. 2. 6) Organizational unit: As the department of the organization has to be skilled and fully experienced for efficient working the managing director should take into consideration to select proficient managers to preserve the standard of the company.

The old strategy used by Airstar was not up to the level for performance of the company. I would suggest a better organizational structure which led to a huge success of the company (Appendics 1). 4) CONCLUSION: To sum up, it is necessary to work on the organizational structure and strategies of the company to give it an economic growth. To companies will can only be maximize if its management and organizational structure are balanced. Previously air star couldn’t hold it economic position due to lack of cooperation, leadership, business unit, communication and other reason as well. But in future if strategies mentioned are followed in a systematic manner then this company has a hope to overcome its problem strategy gives a direction to an organization over the long term which is advantageous for an organization through it configuration of resources within a challenging environment to meet the needs and expectation of the stake holders.
