Being that George Orwell was essentially a political writer, who focused his attention on his own times, he based his book “1984” on what times where or what the future could be.

George Orwell, was influenced and inspired by totalitarian. Orwell wrote “1984” while seriously ill with tuberculosis. Orwell commented that if he had not been so ill, the book might not have been so bleak. The book “1984” has been adapted to both television shows and movies .In the book “1984’ the world is divided into three countries that include a entire globe: Oceania, Eurasia, and Eastasia They are all a totalitarian society led by Big Brother.

Winston is the main character and wants to secretly join Brotherhood. Winston meets a girl name Julia and secretly falls in love with her. In the novel there is an Inner-Party which one of the characters O’Brien is apart of. In this book everyone is equal and no can think for themselves. In the novel “1984” George Orwell states many points leading to Destruction of Human Values such as, everyone having to eat the same things, wear the same clothes, live the same exact way, and follow the same exact rules. No one in the novel could be their own individual person.

The sign Big Brother is Watching You (Orwell, 47) is proper evidence of it. The quote relates to the topic because it simply is saying follow the rules given because someone is watching you. The people in the book “1984”saw this quote and were reminded every time that they were being watched. The quote was every where they went and it only showed them that they had no freedom.

Everyone knew they where being watched and no one person could do different then what the rules where. The quote told people that if they do not follow the rules someone was coming to get them. The the people knew that their every move was being watched when they stepped out of their house. Being watched constantly is just like being on lock down, in the novel the people had to eat the same things, wear the same clothes, follow the same rules, and live the same exact way. People are only permitted to think what the Party tells them to think in the novel.

According to Winston “if there is hope, it lies in the poles” (Orwell, 47).Winston states “ War is Peace’ ‘Freedom is Slavery’ and ‘Ignorance is strength” (Orwell, 47). In his book Winston writes “ never again will you be capable of ordinary human feeling” (Orwell,47). Quotes relate to the topic because they are saying that the people can not be themselves. The people have to be told to live a certain lifestyle. They know what to expect everyday, because it is the same exact thing.

No one in the novel is doing different or standing out as and individual. War is the conflict of the parties, peace is agreement between the parties. This keeps the people together and under the same rules.Their freedom has been abolished, and the people of the Inner-Party do not know they are being controlled by the party, knowing will give them strength and the Party wants to control them so they want know. This is very file because, everyone in the novel has to eat the same things, wear the same clothes, follow the same rules, and live the same exact way.

In the novel everyone had to follow the same exact rules such as, eating the same things, wearing the same clothes, and living the same way. According to Winston, “ how could you have a slogan like ‘Freedom is Slavery’ when the concept of freedom has been abolished (Orwell,47).The quote relates to the topic because, it tells that there is no freedom. The peoples freedom has been taken away. The people can not stand on their own. The people have to abide by the rules.

The people have no say so in anything. People could not feel free because, they are being told to do thing against their will. The people do not know what freedom feels like because they are always being told what to do. The slogan “ Freedom is Slavery” is basically saying that the people can not be themselves, there is no freedom they are experiencing slavery rather than freedom.

The people should have the right to choose, in the novel the people have to eat the same tings, wear the same clothes, follow the same rules, and live the same exact way. In the novel “1984”, George Orwell states many points leading to Destruction of Human Values, such as everyone eating the same things, wearing the same clothes, following the same rules and living the same exact way. It is basically destroying ones freedom. It’s not having the ability to stand up for what you believe.
