The starting of horror in Germany. A war that scarred the world and its victims tremendously began when the first violent act was implemented on Jewish people living in Germany. On November 9, 1938 mob violence broke out in the streets of Germany.
German police and crowds of spectators stood by and watched the SS and Hitler Youth wreck Jewish businesses and homes. Hundreds of Human rights were abused. On October 27th 1938 over 15 000 Jews originally from Poland were deported from Germany.The Polish government did not allow this group of Jews back Into the country thus they were dumped In relocation camps at the Polish boarder. The Kristallnacht occurred after a 17 year old Jewish Herschal Grynszpans shot and killed a member of the German Embassy In Paris for the Illtreatment his famllyand thousands of Jews suffered at these relocation camps.
Before the Kristallnacht occurred laws were put Into place that dlscrlmlnated against Jews. However this was the first violent act. Nazi stormed troopers to beat nd murder Jews, broke into Jewish homes and business, and brutalized women and children.Four rapes occurred but only one was accounted for. Thousands of young Jewish men were arrested and sent to concentration camps.
They also targeted synagogues especially and burnt Holy Scriptures. Many Jewish areas were destroyed and hundreds of Jews were left homeless. Paul Rona, wrecked havoc in our apartment. Their right to be under the protection of the law, to have ecurity, to have freedom, to have privacy, to not be discriminated against.The Germans showed no respect for the Jews and they showed an extreme amount of hatred for as well.
During the kristallnacht many German citizens stood and watched with amusement as the Jews were brutalized by the SS. Lilli Tauber' There were people outside the gate watching, and people from Wiener Neustadt looked on with amusement as we Jewish children had to run around in circles. ' This event also showed the true feelings the Nazi had for Jews. They encouraged Anti- Semitism and howcased inhumane actions towards Jews.The Jewish people were humiliated as they were left to clean up the streets with toothbrushes and fined 1 billion Deutsch Marks for damages.
This event is extremely significant because it proved that Jewish people are not protected by the law against criminal violence. They were also not physically safe. After this event occurred many Jews left Germany for a better life but some could not. The Nazi brutalized hundreds of Jews for the death of a minor official.
This tragedy marked the starting of a horrifying war. The burning of a synagogue Is In process of burnt to the ground.
