Every Educational service has policies and procedures to protect the young people and adults who work with them. My setting has below policy and procedure to protect young people and adults working with them.•Education Leeds’s child protection policies. •Guidelines for CRB check •Child protection policy •Anti Bullying policy. •Physical Restraint of Pupils •Intimate care policy •Missing child •Escorting VisitorsIn order to protect child every individuals (Teacher, Assistant Teacher, Kitchen staff, Admin staff, etc.) working in setting should be Enhanced CRB checked as child could be potentially harmed from anyone in setting.

All visitors in the setting needs to be escorted at all times and they should display their visitor badges also they are not allowed to enter some areas of setting. If we notice anyone without Visitor badge then we must challenge them and ask their role and purpose in the school.Parents and career expect their children to be safe and protected when within work setting. Children and young people do not have full understanding of how to protect themselves hence it’s our responsibility to protect them.

Most of the children do not tell about abuse that they face to anyone because they are afraid, due to shame or they are too young. Some of them even do not know if what is happening to them is wrong or it’s not same that happens to everyone else.As per national statistics about three quarter to children who are sexually abused did not told that to anyone at that time. Hence it is important that adult understand the signs or symptoms of abuse and report the suspected cases as early as possible. The figure of children on protection register is increasing over years.

As per NSPCC figure of 2012 about 50,500 children were in risk register. Hence it’s our responsibility to protect them from harm within work setting.
