It has been my dream to major in Finance and study at the Lehigh University. I believe that the school provides one of the best and most intensive business programs in the United States.
A small university offering seventy undergraduate programs, its expansive and varied learning environment can help build my knowledge in facing the ever changing world. The small class population promotes close interaction between the students and the faculty, making it a proactive environment. I am Taiwanese by blood, but I have spent part of t my life in Shanghai, China.I received first hand information of the widely touted future that the “Finance Center” of Asia is building upon. I realized the importance of knowledge in businesses, particularly in finance. In high school, I learned through my mathematics-related classes, such as Economics and Calculus, that business plays a crucial role in a country's economy.
An old Chinese proverb stated, “Money is not everything, but without money nothing can be done. ” Currently, I am a freshman at the Villanova Business School.My belief has always been focused in moving forward, and taking the challenges that come my way, whether academic, social or ability-related. My goals is to used these experiences in augmenting my skills in order to excel. At the same time, I keep in mind the Lehigh spirit, “Challenge great minds, inspiring great imaginations.
” It has come to my attention that various cultures are incorporated in the university. This preference made by the university promotes adequate multiplicity, lodging distinction, and persuading individualization.Coming from a culturally diverse family can help me adjust easily. Both my knowledge and perception about things will be honed as I develop as a person. The College of Business and Economics of Lehigh University makes the university more appealing to me.
The college prioritizes the inimitable learning opportunities that can help me attain my roadmap and augment my skills. In addition to this, the courses I discovered in this field were not only exciting, but the related careers to finance were also well known.Many business students from this university were hired by reputable companies, marking them as the “future” of our society. Furthermore, Lehigh University provides a wide range of business clubs, volunteer and social opportunities for its students.
I can definitely contribute to these perfect chances the institution offers, and at the same time, learn during the involvement process. Studying at Lehigh University will be my stepping stone in fulfilling my goals and objectives in life of becoming a highly-skilled investment analyst.With this in mind, I intend to become an investment or business analyst at the Wall Street Journal in the United States after college. I am a very disciplined person. I can work independently or as a team member, making sure that I start and finish tasks before their due dates. I have clear goals and objectives.
I can speak three languages- Mandarin, Cantonese, and English respectively. Also, I am aware of the similarities and differences of people from different countries, giving me the opportunity to do research under the guidance of your faculty, and using primary sources.I will be in position to not only translate verbatim, but also take into consideration the customs, culture, traditions, and even history involved during the process. My knowledge can be considered an asset to the faculty, especially those conducting international research. Being fortunate and blessed to be accepted in this university will surely be beneficial and of great help in the fulfillment of my dreams.
This opportunity will open more doors for me into the Chinese commerce, making me a world-wide competitor.
