Situation:

By the end of the week, things quieted down. The IT staff discusses how to prioritize IT project requests, taking into account technical, operational, economic and schedule feasibility. The IT manager asked for a suggestions from the group

1. Provide three example of why a project lack technical feasibility.

2.Provide three example of why a project lack operational feasibility.

3. Provide three example of why a project lack economic feasibility.

4. Provide three example of why a project lack schedule feasibility.

1. a)The company might lack of IT staff to execute the project.

b)Lack of capital to buy the suitable equipment or resources to support the system.

c)The technology does not exist at all

2. a)The project may be inadequate in term of operational feasibility because the project might be difficult to operate, the user (employees, customers, and suppliers) of the project lack of proper training or IT knowledge.

b)The project procedures are too complex as it may integrate with more application.

c)current work practices and procedures are not adequate to support the new system.

3. a)The project might be lack of economic feasibility because of the company lack of current cash flow to wait the returns of investment, so the project with longer payback period will stopped to implement.

b)Some company may feel the project that generates higher benefits in future is not worth compare to gaining (even small profit) benefits within a shorter period.

c)The cost exceeds the benefits.
