Consider some things we always use in our everyday life such as vehicles, buildings, roads, bridges, vehicles, computers, electric devices and others are exist because of engineers. Without engineer maybe people cannot lives in easiest ways. Engineer can be defined as people who solve problems and focus on making things work more efficiently and effectively.
They also apply theory of science and mathematics to design and manufacture product for human kind. Therefore, to be an engineer is an honor things and great deals for me.There are several reasons why I want to be an engineer. First of all, engineers have a high demand in work. By comparison, engineers are more easy to get work from others career. The statistic has shown that engineer fresh graduates nowadays can easily get a job although their results are not good enough.
Although each university in Malaysia are producing thousands of fresh graduate from all engineering courses, but the demand in industry are always increase every year. The rapid growth in industry has opened a big opportunity for engineer to get a job everywhere. Moreover, the industry still need more engineer to fulfill their requirement. Therefore, becoming an engineer can assure me to get job when I graduated soon. Besides that, engineers can earn good salary. Engineering is one of the few fields where you can earn a good salary especially for them who have work experience for 2 years and above.
However, the starting salary for fresh graduate job is also impressive. That why many of students are more interest to be engineer.Although it sounds to be materialistic, however we cannot excuse that people always need money. Since engineers have good incomes they get to enjoy their life with many different hobbies and interests.
Thus, become an engineer allows me to really enjoy life because I will have good financial source. Next, I want to be an engineer because I love to learn physic. By taking engineering course, it can assure me to learn more subject that related with physic. By the way, I always hope I can get result with flying colour by taking subject in my interest. In physic, the subject teaches me to more critical thinking in solving any problems. Same as the engineer, they are always expose to the critical thinking in getting solution to satisfy human needs.
Therefore, loves study physic maybe can be a good step in my life to be an engineer soon. Apart from that, I can avoid myself from biological subject anymore because I do not really like the subject since I was in my secondary school.In addition, I also want to be an engineer because I want to invent or design new stuff that can facilitate human life. Since I was child, I always thinking to design a robot that can help human to do their everyday task. Now, I always think how to design a vending machine that can serve a cup of maggi which is ready to eat with the chosen flavours. So, I need to finish my study first and become a successful engineer before can invent the machine.
There are a lot of characteristic of a successful engineer. Firstly the engineer must have good problem solving skills. During conducting any tasks, an engineer is frequently will face problems. So, they must be able to figure out where the problem come from and quickly develop a solution to the problem.Next, a successful engineer must have a good teamwork.
It is important for them to be a good teamwork because they are always needed to work together with another member in a group. A good teamwork engineer is always sharing the idea or solution in a group. The solution maybe can contribute a lot to the team so that they can do the project or task successfully.Then, a successful engineer also must be honest to himself and others.
A successful engineer can be honest by carry out the tasks given, works on time, do not accept any bribe and so on. Engineers at construction site are always exposed to bribe because they have the authority to reject works that not follow the procedure and requirement. Therefore, someone are trying to give them a gift so that the engineer while approve their works although it not totally follow procedure and requirements. By the way, a successful engineer must be honest to himself and others.During my Industrial Training in construction site, I have impressed an engineer at the site to be my icon.
His name is Yip Kai Weng and he is a senior project engineer at the site. I really impress him because of his good characteristic. He has good communication with his teammate and a very friendly person. He treats his workers as his friend and that why everyone at the site are easy to get close with him. Besides that, he always contributes good solution to a problem and he also accepts any ideas from others.
Thus, I think he is the right person to be my iconic engineer.
