The price of gas has been going up for awhile now and for many people. Gas costs are changing daily and are higher than they once were even a few years ago in most places. Some people may look at gas prices and think that they are a little bizarre. These gas prices could make an increase in your family’s budget and with the economy the way it is currently, this could have an impact in life. In the next few months there is talk about the rising of gas prices, maybe even to the point where it’s over $5.

00 a gallon. This makes it tough to keep up with filling up your vehicle and driving to work even on a daily basis. There are many things you can do to improve your cars fuel efficiency to help your gas last longer and although you cant control the rising gas prices at the pump, there are many steps in how to save money on your car’s gas cost. The first step on how to save money on your cars gas cost is to find the cheapest gas price in your area. Many people fill up or get gas at the place that is most convenient instead of taking the time to check whether it’s the most cost effective option.I know some people say they don’t have enough time to look drive and look around for the perfect price but next time you’re out running errands just take a look at the price of gas at your local gas stations and compare the prices.

Also I am not saying drive way out of the area just to save a little extra on gas. For me, kwik trip is usually the most convenient but I have learned that there are other stores closer to my house with cheaper gas prices. There is also some websites including Gas Buddy that is a great way to find the cheapest gas prices in your area.Large cities often have higher gas prices and are harder to navigate.

Another step on saving money on gas is to ditch the car for short trips. This tip is kind of common sense but however many people don’t even take it into consideration. Most everybody has bikes, rollerblades and other things that sometimes don’t get much use. Using these things for short trips can help save in the end. When you do have to drive, do it as least as you possibly can.

Other things like carpool, combining trips and fuel efficient cars can help out.If two people are going to work or school together the gas per person is immediately cut in half. The other one I mentioned was combining trips. If you live outside of town, try to go to town once and get everything you need done. If you are in the market for a new car, you should definitely consider fuel efficiencies car.

The third step would be to keep your car properly maintained. Making sure that your car is well maintained is often a way to save car costs in general. There are a few things you want to keep your eye on including your tires, essential oils, the air filter, and oil levels.Checking that your tire pressure is properly inflated can save you money because incorrect tire pressure is a big cause of excessive fuel consumption. Keep your essential oils at a fairly constant level and don’t let them be depleted too much.

Make sure your air filters aren’t getting clogged up and have your oil changed on a regular basis. If the engine doesn’t sound right, you might spend a bit more than you planned in the short term, but it can improve your fuel economy quite a bit. Another step to saving the cost of gas in your car would be to adopt a smoother driving style. No drastic changes need to be made on how you drive, but it can help save gas cost if you have smooth handling. A car consumes most gas as it accelerates. In order to improve your mileage you need to keep the ride smooth.

Some people in heavy traffic cannot control their speed with the accelerator pad alone. These are the people who speed up and brake all the time. Keeping distance from you and the car ahead of you can help you from always having to brake and speed up again. In heavy traffic this is said to be the most efficient way to save gas and can easily get you 10%- 20% better gas mileage.

This last step is one that a lot of people actually do and sometimes don’t realize it. This is overusing the air conditioning or the heat. However, it is nice to be able to flip on the air conditioning while you’re in the car, but this doesn’t help with your fuel efficiency. This tip however can be impractical in some areas like in the Arizona summer. One thing you can do is Park your car in the shade so that you won’t have to keep the AC working as hard when you go somewhere. There are many tips like this that some people don’t take into consideration and don’t think about how it saves their gas costs.

Also rolling down the windows just a little bit, so the air can circulate through your car while you are parked can help. Plus, if the weather is nice, it’s always nice to drive with the windows down once in awhile. Using tips like the ones I just gave your can help you improve your fuel efficiency and start lowering your gas cost. I know many teenagers, like me, who have a hard time paying for gas with the prices they are today, but there are many things you can do to improve how much you pay at the pump.

There are many other tips/steps out there that I didn’t mention in my paper that can help you save gas costs. Better fuel efficiency has the added advantage of being greener so you can help save the environment while you’re saving money. Summer is on its way and the rumor has it the gas could reach $4. 00 to over $5. 00 a gallon in some areas.

It’s really important to be mindful of these tips, because a drastic rise in gas prices could be a budget buster.
