Music has always been a huge factor in my life. Not only does it serve as one of my greatest influences in the world, but it also defines who I am as a human being. It has helped mold me into the kind of person that I am today, as well as the kind of person that I strive to become in the future. Three ways music affects my life are it gives me the strength to achieve my goals, it enables me to express myself through the emotions that I am feeling, and it calms me when I am stressed. Music makes me believe that I have the power to change the fate of our world.I feel if everyone listened to the same music as I do the world would be a better place.

Most people will set goals and never achieve them, but when I set goals I set them to my favorite song so I will never forget to achieve them. I love to listen to songs that are meaningful. Meaningful songs make me ponder over what kind of person I want to be, and what kind of purpose I have in this world. When I have a goal set to work out, I always turn my MP3 player on shuffle and just go on a run. Listening to music while your working out helps stimulate your inner core and it gives your mind that edge it needs to perform a task or objective.Music helps inform people surrounding me what kind of mood I am in.

If I am happy I listen to pop or rock music. When I am happy I like to listen to music that makes me laugh and dance. My friends and I love riding in the car with the windows down singing out loud to our favorite songs. It is not only fun to sing out loud with other people but it is also good for the soul. When I am going through heartbreak I listen to country music because most songs are down to earth and have a sentimental melody. Country music is not only for heartbreaks though; some songs are great for square dancing or even having a bonfire with your friends.

Sometimes in my life, I just feel a rush of emotions sweeping through my mind, and I do not know how to control them. That’s where music comes in. Music allows me to make sense of things. Through music, I am able to observe the world in a different perspective, which can wither be negative or positive, depending on my mood. I can’t even comprehend how it could be humanly possible for someone not to enjoy the beautiful sound of music or the wonderful lyrics that go along with it.

The idea is completely unfathomable to me.Music helps me feel less stressed and more relaxed. I can sit in a hot bathtub for hours listening to soft music and instantly feel less stressed. Music helps me wake up in the mornings because when my alarm goes off my favorite song plays.

When I listen to soothing music it helps to lower my blood pressure and boosts immune cell count; which reduces stress hormones. To be honest, I can’t remember the last time I haven’t listened to music. I literally cannot go one day without listening to some kind of tune. If my iPod breaks, I will go onto my laptop and open up ITunes. If ITunes doesn’t work, I will sign onto my YouTube account and search for some kind of song to listen to on that website.

If the Internet is down, I will turn on the radio until I find the right song I want. What I’m trying to say is that no matter what, I always find a way to satisfy my craving for music. After school, I come home, and the first thing I do is listen to music. Even when I go to bed, I lie in the darkness, just listening to the sound of the radio or MTV on television.

Some song lyrics I hear provide me with a tremendous source of inspiration and an incredible sense of hope for the future.I honestly do not understand how some people can go through life without listening to any type of music at all. When my parents tell me to turn off my music because I’ve been playing it “too much” or because it’s “too loud,” I stare at them dumfounded and surprised by their lack of awareness of the significance of music in my life. Needless to say music is my life.

I believe that those who have not yet been affected by music are missing a great deal in their lives, for without music, what else do you have to live for? What else do you have to hold onto? How can you bear going through life each day without the assurance that you always have something to rely on to be there for you, to understand you, and to help you make sense of the world? This is what music does for me. My belief is that those who do not yet feel music’s warmth do not have the strength to achieve their goals. Music helps me not have to hide behind my emotions but to embrace them. I cannot rely on medication or sleep to help relieve my stress, but when I put my headphones in and play a soft tune I immediately go to my happy place.
