In discussing the ancient world, many aspects in ancient Mesopotamia and ancient Egypt seem to be different and similar in different ways. Although both Egypt and Mesopotamia developed at the same time, there were many differences in political systems, religion, and social stability.

They both established along the Nile River in the Fertile Crescent, but geography of their different regions had different results on agricultural prosperity, religious formation, and government structures. Both regions experienced an influx of previous nomadic peoples during the latter Neolithic period in what became the Agricultural Revolution.Both ancient Mesopotamian and ancient Egypt religion focused on the gods as living forces of nature. Ancient Mesopotamia would build shrines and ziggurats dedicated to their city god or goddess. In comparison Egyptians would make shrines as enormous pyramids to worship there god or pharaoh. The views of both civilizations varied from their geographical location and their ability to prosper.

Both civilizations revolved mainly around their religion, and any person of religious stature was in high ranks and highly respected.In Mesopotamia Both the Euphrates and Tigris Rivers frequently caused destructive floods, flooding villages and cities, killing people and livestock. Many civilizations were conquered by another. The social structure of Mesopotamia and Egypt were different. In Mesopotamia there was no gender equality woman were treated as less than men. However, in ancient Egypt, as exampled in female pharos, females had more opportunities to rise in life. In Mesopotamia, although they had different classes of slaves, they were still treated like property. In both societies the very few elite held enormous wealth, while the common people normally were last in ranks.
