Our personalities tell others about how we are molded by the society we are into. The characters that we show other people are that of which we will be known even if we do not exist on a certain event.
Our personalities and character contribute to our humanness. Being human still has imposed a lot of expectations with us given that people born in this world may be divided of two sexes, namely the male and female. Their roles in the society depend on this. It is upon the growth of individuals that the word sex confuses our minds with the word gender.To define both words in what I have learned before, SEX is the biological trait that we gain during our birth, while GENDER is acquired psychologically, socially and physically during our development. Now, there is a question that pops out in the experts’ mind.
That is whether our genders are being affected by popular images. In my own opinion, the society and the media are big factors in the shaping of the genders of our youth today even those that of the earlier years, say for the 1950’s onwards. The media helps people to accept some gender issues that are related to homosexuality.Marriages of gays, even if the Catholic Church strongly disagrees with the set up are now done commercially with media coverage and radio reports. The matinee idols that are featured on television are even the ones who have such relationship. For girls, they are also expressing their crush such as with Janet Jackson and Alicia Keys (EURweb 2008).
The act of admitting that you adore someone of your sex is one way that tells people, it is alright to pursue a homosexual feeling that will in turn be ending to weddings and live-in set-ups.The media indeed is a big factor that people come to a point by which they can accept issues that violates or moral codes and ethics. Such as with the issue of Lindsay Lohan which still seem to be so hot even if she was already sent to prison due to her stubbornness. As long as a showbiz personality has the same sexy body and a booming project, it will not affect his/her gender and the like, that also teaches us to accept the same situation on normal beings.
