This quote means, when you have a friend for so many years thinking they your friend but come to find out that that they really not your friend and they end up back stabbing you. I agree with this quote because this happens to a lot of people that has friends and then finding out they not really there friends. The Reason why I’m connecting Malcolm X book because his own nation (Muslim) turned against him and killed him. Also, Malcolm X didn’t know that All his friends that he thought he had all change on him and backstabbed him. The second work of literature that I can connect this quote is “Single White Females”. The reason why I’m connecting Single White Females to the quote is because Hedy, Allies roommate and best friend started to obsess about Allie and started to copy Allie appearance even her hairstyles.Then she turned on her and then tried to kill Allie but Allie ended up killing Hedy.
