In Visitors an unusual burglary takes place. The visitors are the robbers, but they aren't like normal robbers, they are very well presented, and polite, they looked like workmen. The men brought Mrs Morrison refreshments for her to eat and drink, while they robbed her house. For robbers they were very well organized. 'We've disconnected your phone at the junction' is an example of their organisation.

'We disconnected your power on arrival, and of course we will put that back on as soon as we leave. ' That was an example of two things organisation and politeness. As the robbers moved from room to room collecting various items, they kept things very tidy as when they found it. The men are polite and considerate it shows this when the main man tells the Mrs Morrison about the forfeit. He says ' Of course, we can break them from the inside so as not to glass on the furnishings. In Examination day it is Richard Jordan's (Dickies) birthday.

On the morning of Dickies birthday, his mother mentioned an exam, which was to be held in the next two weeks after his birthday. Dickies dad didn't want to talk about the exam so he answered sharply 'Forget about it, he'll do all right'.Later on, Dickie asked his dad some questions 'how far away is the sun' his dad knowing the answer, really was further away then what he was going to say, answered 5000 miles. Trying to make Dickie interested in the wrong answers. The day of the appointment Dickies dad told him it was different to a school test, 'this is different.

This is a-special kind of test. They give you stuff to drink' and that the drink tasted of peppermint. 'It tastes like peppermint. Its just to make sure you answer all the questions truthfully' Dickie was confused by his father telling him this.

Dickie and his dad entered the government building and entered a room numbered 404 and waited to be called. Dickie was in the room and a man asks him whether he's called Richard Jordan and tells him to drink the drink. Dickie was told he was going to be asked some questions, and when ever he wants to start say 'ready'. At 4 o'clock the phone rings and Mr Jordan answers and he was told that 'This is the Government Educational Service Your son Richard M Jordan Classification 600-115 has completed the Government examination. We regret to inform you that his intelligence quotient has exceeded the Government regulation.Reading the look on her husbands face Mrs Jordan knows her son has been killed for having a higher IQ level then regulation allows.

The last thing the person says on the telephone is if they wanted a Government burial or private burial place. The normal situation would be totally different in Visitors. The robbers would normally be scruffy kids and break in whilst everyone is out during the daytime or whilst every one is in bed at night not whilst someone is in and not knock at the front door saying it's a burglary you would normally just break a window a climb through.Whilst robbing a house they would normally leave behind a mess from trashing everything in sight so the don't leave any trace, not leave it as they found it, tidy and clean. If confronted, burglars would use violence to get away so they wouldn't be chance of getting caught.

Not bring you tea, scones and other refreshments so they can be recognised and caught. They wouldn't be organized they would have probably decided to break in that night and not have it organised for two weeks beforehand. They wouldn't be polite either they would be aggressive, and not considerate usually break the windows from the outside so the glass would be on the furnishings. The normal situation in Examination Day would be different again. As it was our birthday you would normally have a happy day with people not trying to spoil it, especially your parents.

You would be told a lot earlier if you had an exam which had been set by the government, and your parents would be supporting you throughout the run up to it. Not giving you false answers to easy questions. Setting you harder questions so you could try your hardest at getting them.Your parents wouldn't want you to do badly in exams but to do your best.

The drink that they gave to Dickie they wouldn't give to real people, as it doesn't exist and if it did they wouldn't use it to decide a child's future at the age of 12. If at the age of 12 you had a higher IQ level then set by the Government you would not be killed for being brainy you would be praised. The events in Visitors are unbelievable. I find this is unbelievable because in normal live that just wouldn't happen. Burglars wouldn't come up to your house knocking on the door telling you are going to be burgled by them.

An example of this is "This is a robbery. " When the main burglar says his firm has become nationalised. An example of this is "nationalising robbery was the best thing the government could do. " I find this unbelievable as the government is trying to cut down the amount of burglary in this country not support it by making it run by the government.

The burglars wouldn't bring the victim tea and biscuits while they robbed her house that is unbelievable. Example of this is 'the man with the basket, to whom the leader had gestured, moved to the coffee table and began setting the contents of his hamper onto the polished wood surface.Cup, Saucer, thermos, napkins, small glass jars of sugar and milk and a plate of raisin scones' and they wouldn't either hand over a list of things they have taken. The events in examination day are believable and unbelievable. I find it mainly unbelievable.

I find it believable because I can believe that you would go for a test, which is essential set by the government. This would be like the GCSE test. This is the only part I can believe though. The rest I find unbelievable killing someone for being brainy.

And parents shouldn't lie to their children when they ask a question that they know the answers to.An example of the stupid answers is, when he answers 'nobody knows' to the question 'what makes it green though? The grass? ' I can't believe that parents would want to make their children on the stupid side. The peppermint drink is another thing I find unbelievable because there is nothing that can make you tells the truth.
